"My Immortal" is now #33 with +421 and it's only being played on 84 stations. Once more stations start adding it I see this song exploding on pop. It looks like it may be headed for top 15 in the next month and a half.

Now let's hope Evanescence can get into the top 10, even better, I hope they hit #1!

Once it starts playing on Z100 over here, I know it's made it because the audience on that song will increase by a million if it gets added automatically. I've been keeping my eye on this song and it's been increasing in every update since maybe a few days ago. I'm hoping it pulls an Outkast By that I mean exploding on radio like "The Way You Move" is doing right now.

Kiss FM in Boston is playing the hell out of it, and is always #1 on most requested countdowns.
Im predicting a #2 peak

When was the adds date?
It's my favorite song on the album and all, but I wouldn't call +421 (even on 84 stations) really exploding or taking off... unless its adds date was next week or something.

It was listed for adds on Nov.7, so it's actually been out for a while. As for how the far the song will go, I really think it's about anyone's guess, IMO, the first 3 minutes of the song are really boring, finally in the last 45 seconds it picks up, but I still like the song.

I am glad to see this doing so well! I knew it would be in the +400's soon. Hopefully it will meet my next prediction, #1 song of 2004. I just wish my pop station played the rock version.

The first time I heard "My Immortal" I thought "yawn!". But it has grown on me. Not hearing it at all on my Hot AC radio station.

I don't know if people are going to like this song or not. I'm getting a lot of positive, but I'm also getting a lot of BORING!

It's doing very well on the Pulse 100 though. Up to #3! :)

So even when or if it gets huge, a lot of people won't be sick of it because it will have taken all this time to grow on them.

Boring, WTF? It's the most emotional, dramatic song I've ever heard. Yeah, but some people don't care about lyrics, therefore the song can be boring for them.

I love Evanescence, I think "Fallen" is a great album...but I find "My Immortal" to be boring. Not just boring, but really boring. Nothing happens in this song until the guitars kick in at the end. I am really surprised it's gotten as far as it has already.
I find songs to be much more dramatic and emotional when there is something happening in them. Just someone singing a song with a piano is nothing I find particularly interesting.

They elevate the emotion from the verses to the chorus. Plus the lyrics are really powerful too, and like Cfw said if you don't listen to the lyrics then there's no point in listening to the song. Besides how could you be bored by Amy's beautiful voice??? :(.

Everyone has their own opinions. I didn't say he isn't entitled to his own opinion, I'm just questioning it.

I adore this song...or did. I liked EVA WAYYYYYY back when My Immortal was this little demo (not any of the current versions) So I have been listening to the song nonstop for a very very long time-I am a bit burned out. But everyones opinions differ. For me, Sarah Mclachlan sitting at a piano with nothing else and singing one of her songs was one of my most moving and emotional concert experiences in my life. To others, they might have been bored. **shrugs** Lyrics, vocals, and acoustic type songs can move me. To others, they cant. Just depends :)

Well... the current trend of canned, homogeinized pop hits and innumerable flash-in-the-pan chart-bound darlings are what's fostered what I call an "ADD" generation of people impatient and numb-minded to the point that they can't appreciate artistry, lyricism or even the minimalism of a vocally gifted female singing to a simple piano accompaniment.
How sad.
Peace out, Andree

Peace out, Andree That's exactly what drew me to the song/band in the first place. [obsessive fan] Ben Moody wrote most of this song. Amy wrote the bridge. They were about 15 years old when they wrote this song. For an artist to have written a song at such a young age and to have it have as much relevancy then as it does now is simply phenominal. That's what impresses me about this band [/obsessive fan] This song should hopefully be a top 5 song. Some markets are sluggish in picking the song up (Like Z100 here in NY ) so it's hard to tell.

Fifteen, great job to both of them! The bridge always gives me the chills.

Currently the song is the 5th greatest gainer (which isn't really saying a lot right now) +225. I wouldn't be surprised if the songs bullet grows to over +700 by the end of next week once stations stop the Christmas music and year-end countdowns.
