almost everyone seems to have taken a big hit:
Jessica Simpson: +152 from +300-400 Linkin Park: +300 from +400 Eamon: +17 from +300 Didi: +45 from +200 Pink: +33 from +200-300 Kelly Clarkson: +77 from +200-300 Good Charlotte: +190 Beyonce: +84 Evanescence: +245 Sheryl Crow: +2 Mary J. Blige: +217 Alicia Keys: +173
Some of those songs are probably gonna peak soon anyway (Sheryl seems done, and poor Pink seems in big 'trouble', bit I was really rooting for Jessica Simpson to break the top ten, I hope she still can.

More stations playing Christmas music I presume... things should get back to normal once we enter January...

The same thing happened last year. Don't you remember your cheering when "Beautiful" lost it's bullet durring Christmas before it hit #1?

Christmas time is always this way. It will correct itself between now and the first week of Jan.

Actually, spins and bullets will still be low even in the first week of January. It won't be until the second week of January when most songs will get huge bullets, and then there will be a topic about why do so many songs have large bullets.

Well, the bullets will slowly get bigger now we have all this Christmas junk out of the way. But, like radiorules said, there will be year-end countdowns and such.

5 years from now he'll STILL be talking about how we were all wrong about Beautiful. Hard to believe he's single!

The charts actually frozen, none of the songs have changed in spins since a couple days ago.

The charts actually frozen, none of the songs have changed in spins since a couple days ago. You're right. The last day they updated the spins was Tuesday(the 23rd). Only the trends have been updated, so naturally each day the gains and losses will both become smaller.

Rick Dees did another Christmas special this year so that probably factored in.

Yeah but bullets slowly creep back up to normal standards is what I was trying to say. It takes a couple weeks but by Jan 5th which is still in the first week of Jan bullets should've already started creeping back up...

The whole chart is scaring me, it's almost as boring as the AC chart! I just hope Sheryl Crow can pull through. Sarai "Ladies" has been played a lot on year-end countdowns.

and wtf is up with this? SARAI Ladies 319 206 +113 That's due to its being played on AT40's top 100 of the year (it finished #92). You'll also see that with the few songs in the top 100 that didn't go recurrent (The Ataris, John Mayer, Good Charlotte).

OK the numbers changed slightly after being frozen for a few days. Why did Mediabase had to freeze these past few days? Aren't the updates automatic? How will we ever argue in 2008 over which of "I'm With You" or "Beautiful" had more spins in December 2003 like this???!!!

I dunno... from what I understand, though, Mediabase actually uses humans to identify the song samples that they use to compile their spin totals, so maybe they give 'em a few days off this time of year (as opposed to Nielsen BDS, which is pretty much completely computerized).

The ENTIRE top 30 has 9 10 Bullets!!! :o
~Christina just lost regained her bullet and is currently at -1 +1!. ~Baby Bash lost his bullet overnight and is at -106 ~Outkast, too...at -64
The bulleted songs are: Outkast (TWYM), Kelis, Ludacris, Jessica Simpson, Linkin Park, Dido, Fuel, Pink, and BeyoncΓ©, and Christina Aguilera.
This HAS TO change...QUICKLY!

I don't know why you guys are worried. It's not like it's the end of the world or something odd is going on. It's the end of the year and stations are playing yearend countdowns and doing other specials so it takes time away from normal currents.
I am wondering though, how much does the end of the year effect the chart? Do older songs get their bullets back? By how much do they increase?

For the most part songs usually go back to moving up/down at about the rate they were prior to Christmas/New Years.
