This is the 4th Euro single. I imagine it'll flop, or get no attention and be cancelled, in the UK, where 'Forca' made a disastrous #40. But In Europe 'Forca' was a huge hit, so hopefully this will continue to sell her album, which has been an absolute smash in Europe despite the muted reception elsewhere.

Well she's done OK in the UK, before Forca. 'Try' was a big hit, took the album up to #11.

I have a bad feeling this is going to miss the Top 40. It was a really, really dumb choice to release "Forca" third. It could have been the World Cup or whatever theme it was and not have been released. It ruined this album which would have had a lot more potential had "Explode" and "One Trick Pony" been third and fourth singles.

I don't understand what's considered a hit in the UK. I know I'm always hearing "It flopped, missing the Top 10" but when Nelly Furtado's "Try" hits #15, it's a big hit.

I like "Explode" and "OTP" mire than "Forca" but I wouldn't call it a mistake. It flopped in the UK but was the biggest hit from the album in several European countries (which is saying something too, becase unlike here the first 2 singles were also hits there).

It was probably the biggest hit in Portugal, but that's because the whole chorus is in Portuguese. They could have released it there but I don't think it was a good choice for countries like Canada. "Explode" probably would have been a much bigger hit in English speaking countries than "Forca" was.

Yeah, I agree it should've been the third single in English speaking countries... but not mainland Europe. I think it also peaked in the Top 3? in Germany and who knows where else.

I don't understand what's considered a hit in the UK. I know I'm always hearing "It flopped, missing the Top 10" but when Nelly Furtado's "Try" hits #15, it's a big hit. It varies artist to artist. If you're a pop artist, like say Britney or Emma Bunton, you need to be top ten every time or you get labelled a flop, and a smaller hit won't boost album sales much. Even moreso if you're an unestablish pop act, cos single says don't make any money these days, the market is dying. For a more adult-leaning artist like Furtado, or Gabrielle, as long as the song is getting decent airplay, people are gonna go out and buy their records. 'Try' got lots of airplay, over a long period of time, and it totally saved the album. Top 20 on sales is fine for her considering the benefits it's brought, and overall i'd say it was a big hit considering how much it helped her.

TI thought 'Forca' was a decent sized hit here in Canada. I still hear it often. It wasn't Top 10 or anything (or was it) but it still did well enough. I would say it did better than 'Hey Man'.

It's really sad that her best video to date is going to end up her biggest flop at radio. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) The video is really, really good.

This is an A+ video if I've ever seen one.
At least the various MTV Europe outlets will give it a lot of exposure there. Too bad America missed out YET AGAIN, where quality videos like this get substituted by 13 year olds at amusement parks and rappers doing the same old thing.

I think Forca was a good release! Explode seems more pop friendly... this whole album is AMAZING! I really like Build You Up and Picture Perfect... I think they would have done well at HAC in the US
