The first single from his sophomore album, Second First Impression, will be this Diane Warren penned ballad.
It's due out in the UK on October 25.

Lead single ballad? ![:-x](http://images.proboards.com/lipsrsealed.gif) He thinks everyone is DYING for another ballad because "If You're Not..." was such a big hit. Too bad he didn't think to ask Enrique Iglesias how his Hero Part II lead single went first...

Getting Diane Warren to write your lead single is career suicide.

His first album was HUGE in the UK, he even managed to get 3 #1 singles off that album. So you can't really compare him to Enrique Iglasies.

Getting Diane Warren to write your lead single is career suicide. Please......we'll see. Diane scored a top 10 sales hit and a top 3 airplay hit for the Sugababes in the UK. She will come through for Daniel ;)

Hmm, I wonder why he didn't write it. Hopefully he has some stuff that's he written on his album. I'm sure he will though.
Thanks, Ben

Daniel Bedingfield is a proven hitmaker and a great songwriter. I am positive that he has penned the majority of this album himself. “If You’re Not the One” is easily one of the best ballads to come out in the past 10 years. So the news that he is releasing a ballad as a lead single is very exciting. The fact that is was written by Diane Warren is also exciting….it must be a very good song for Daniel to pass up his own material (which he usually wouldn’t do) and go with Diane’s contribution.
Two days away before the BBC premiere. :)

Wow, just heard “Nothing Hurts Like Love” and man oh man, what a masterpiece. This will put Daniel Bedingfield on the map as one of the best male vocalist in music today. He sings his ass off in this song….especially in the chorus. I had no idea he had such a powerful voice. It’s also a very different Diane Warren song…lyrically, it maybe her most understated song ever. I can’t remember the last DW song that had so little word. While this is a singers song…what makes this record so amazing is the production. Bedingfield is a genius when it comes to musical arrangements. The strings in this song are incredible…especially in theatrical musical break right after the bridge…layers upon layers of orchestrations…building and building until the final chorus. It really is incredible.

s4.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=4B2003E61E8C5A76D7D5309E50CE064CJesus, it's AWFUL! I honestly can't believe he came back with such a dreadful song. It's boring, repetitive, oversung... and the lyrics are not new for Diane Warren at all, they're the same old obvious crap, except there's less of them. This is going to destroy his career. It'll be a moderate UK hit because it's him, but America won't touch this with a 50 foot pole. *FLUSH*

YUCK! Load of crap. This will put Daniel Bedingfield on the map as one of the worst "musicians" in UK history. It will also further establish Ms Warren as one of the most cliched, trite and awful washed up writers in music history.

This belongs in a hotel lounge in Vegas where all the middle-aged divorcee's hang out..... not on radio in ANY country. Wow..... what is he thinking using this as a lead single... or a single at all...or even including it on an album?!

Wow...now lyrics like that are so unique, so fresh....he could have spent 9 weeks at number one on your personal chart. Yeah....they could call it "You're My Everything." Nothing trite about that song......oh well maybe next time he'll learn. On a more serious note....the more and more I listen, the more I like. Hope it goes to number one in the UK!!

Well Anita just scored a #1 at her core format and opened with one of the biggest album debuts of her career. Let's see if Ms Warren can resurrect her career. Doubtful. That old lesbian hack is done for. This is also going to signal the end for Mr Bedingfield.

My point is Diane Warren isn’t the only songwriter who recycles themes and ideas in her songs. Everyone does it…people choose to pick on her and cut her work up because she is most successful at doing what she does. True she hasn’t had a big hit in the USA since “Can’t Fight The Moonlight” but internationally she has been very successful. I bet she has written for more artist worldwide in the past three years, then any other songwriter on the planet.

Okay well my point is that Diane is a writer and not a singer. She only has to focus on the lyrics, and she's been writing the sames ones for 20 years. It's getting obvious that it's stopped working.

Some of the silly stupid comments made about Diane are just ignorant. I've been a member since the beginning and the comment made by "WHACHUGONDO85" was the worst I've seen. I never said anything offensive in my reply.

I just love that you guys are bringing up her sexuality to bash her. And a lot of singer songwriters do recycle themes and stuff-its getting stale with her. We all know that. Its getting stale with others as well. **shrugs** And her sexuality has NOTHING to do with it.
