Well it is the end of 2003, it's been pretty fast I think. Here is where you can post everything you like about 2003 and disliked about 2003. >:( The worst year for rhythmic music IMO, nothing good there this year. :) Matchbox Twenty's "Unwell" becoming a huge surprise hit, I was afraid it wouldn't even break top 20. >:( 50 Cent's recurrent airplay and the fact that he's in the Top 5 for the year. :) 3 Doors Down having 2 #1's and 2 songs in the Top 14 for the calendar year, and #1 on R&R! >:( Beyonce's success over Kelly's :) All of the cross-over artists who made the year better, Stacie, Evanescence, Trapt >:( All of the good rhythmic songs not doing as well as the crappy ones, Bubba Sparxxx, Wayne Wonder, Aaliyah, Frankie J. (the #11 peakers) and Field Mob wasn't bad. :) Dixie Chicks finally making it, but opening their mouths a little too early and ruining their chances of getting a bigger hit. >:( Goo Goo Dolls "Sympathy" not even making the Top 50! :) Radio finally figuring out that Nelly sucks, after "Pimp Juice" flopped! :) T.A.T.U.'s success.

And so did "Iz U."
My list..... :) Dido took the whole 2nd half of the year to slowly climb into the Top 30 with "White Flag." Now let's hope she can get to the Top 20 or Top 10. >:( Coldplay's "Clocks" just barely missed the top 20. :) 50 Cent is this year's greatest new discovery, IMO. With one major #1 hit and three other top 10 hits, he's achieved Best New Artist in my mind. We'll see more from him in 2004. >:( Beyonce's "Baby Boy" spent 4 weeks at #1, preventing what could have been a 7 week streak for "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down, my 2nd favorite song of the year. :) My favorite song of the year, "Picture," made the top 5. >:( "Bring Me to Life" only got 1 week @ #1 :) "Me Against The Music," didn't make top 10! However, it still ENRAGES me that it made #11, it deserved to peak in the 30s it was so crappy. >:( Even though the songs were pretty bad, I hate to see Smash Mouth flop. :) "Rock Your Body," "Ignition," and "Miss Independent" made my summer all that better.

SO LONG! What a terrible year for music. I never thought we could get worse than 2002.

I thought 2003 was a great year for music! Ever year since maybe 1997 I'd always think about how bad the music of the moment was (and then later find myself missing that music because the current music of the moment was worse overall than the year before or whatever) but 2003 for me was a great year and now that I think about it, I don't really find myself thinking 2002 or 2001 was better or missing those years because I got my fill for 2003. I'd say 2003 was probably the best year in music since maybe 1997. So my final words for the year on music: It was a great year in music and it made me look forward to 2004! :)

I thought this year was pretty good overall for music. Sure there were some really horrible music put out this year but that is true for every year. I am quite satisfied with Beyonce , Michelle Branch , Evanesence , Korn , Christina (who by far was the best artist of 2003 imo) , Chantal (put that one in for you Mike) etc... There are also some break out artist that really deserve the acclaim they got such as Stacy Orrico and Maroon 5. So overall I wouldn't say it was a bad year but thank god we can say goodbye to crap like "Stacy's Mom"

2003 was a very good year for music. You just had to look beyond the pop charts and broaden (sp?) your horizons.
