Top 14 Golds "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath" were moved to gold. Bands now have the Top 5 golds with "In The End," 'How You Remind Me," "Blurry," "Hanging By A Moment," and "One Last Breath." "Don't Stop Dancing" went gold also. It has 4 spins.

I wonder why Mediabase does things this way? They like to move songs by the same artist to gold status simultaneously. Both Puddle of Mudd songs were moved to gold at the same time. Both Nickelback songs ("How You Remind Me" and "Too Bad" ) were moved to gold at the same time. This past summer, I think, saw a trio of 3 Doors Down songs moved at once ("Kryptonite", "Loser", and "Be Like That" ).

What I'm surprised about is that the Number 1 "With Arms Wide Open" has less spins than "Higher."

Maybe it's like certifications and the labels have to submit songs to get Gold radio status? ;)

"With Arms Wide Open" is their only Billboard Hot 100 #1 single and is pretty much their trademark song among casual fans. My mom's husband even tried to argue with me that Creed was a 1 hit wonder and this was their only big song! What is so sad is the fact that he's a deejay (not radio, but like school dances and stuff).

Yeah, I'd say "WAWO" is their biggest hit, but "Higher" is certainly up there, and definitely big enough not to consider them a one-hit wonder. They have four top 10 hits, for goodness sakes.
R&R Pop stats:
Higher: #3(1), 30 weeks in top 40 With Arms Wide Open: 1(5), 24 weeks in top 40

Maybe all songs from the same album are moved to gold at once.
Perhaps the album year determines when songs make the transition, and the move only occurs if someone notices, which occurs sporadically.

Why is " Don't Stop Dancing" a "gold" song? It seems to me that certain songs should not be allowed to be moved to recurrent or gold stature unless it meets a certain requirement or requirements (peaked in the top 30, spent X weeks on the chart, etc.). Think about it - if it is never released, should Britney Spears' "I Got That (Boom Boom)" be moved to recurrent in a few months just because a select few stations decided to jump on it?

I'm surprised. I thought it was general consensus that "Higher" was the biggest Creed hit. I guess not.

Mediabase has already shown that if a recurrent that never charted gets enough airplay to chart, it will come back from recurrent, and there are songs older than "I Got That (Boom Boom)" that never charted in the current section. I wouldn't worry about it being moved to recurrent. If it isn't released and a year from now it has 2 spins, does it matter if it's in the current or recurrent section then? If the last single from the album is off the chart, I don't have a problem with all the album tracks from that album being moved to recurrent at that time.

That's what happened with "Hey Girl" by O.A.R. and "You And I Both" by Jason Mraz... both songs got minimal airplay a while ago, were moved to recurrent, and switched back to current when they were officially released to pop and were approaching the top 50.
