Looks like Mya's "Fallen" is pulling a "Crazy"...I really wanted this to hit Top 10, it's a lot better than "My Love Is Like Whoa"...
Also, what's with all the hard rock/metal? I count FIVE hard rock/metal songs in the Top 40 of the Mediabase update ("Headstrong", "Numb", "My Immortal", "So Far Away", and "Falls On Me" ). It looks like Staind could hit Top 10 in their 26th or so week on the chart...

I wouldn't call "My Immortal" hard rock. I really wouldn't call So Far Away and Falls On Me hard rock either. Linkin Park is already established that it can cross over to pop and Trapt sounds a lot like Linkin Park.

Dido defies nearly everyone's expectations and breaches the top 20. Can she grab her second pop top ten?
I'd like her too, cos it'd set her up nicely for further hits from this CD. Cos it's done so well on the other formats though, I can see it just burning out at some point and dropping HARD. Hopefully it'll break top ten before that happens though. She has mucho competition though.
Could Jessica Simpson REALLY get a #1! That's just shocking, though it'd be AMAZING to see a genuine pop song at #1. When was the last time THAT happened?

Perhaps PDs and MDs react to TV exposure? The song is okay, but it is nowhere near #1 material. The video is horribly boring, but yet the airplay numbers are strong. Requests must be through the roof. Oh well, maybe payback for having some good songs ignored earlier.

Yeah, I like both songs quite a bit, but I think Sarah McLachlan's is much better, I don't understand why stations just aren't picking up on this, it's a perfect song for Pop and I think it is her most pop radio-friendly song to date.

I wouldn't really call any of these hard rock/metal, maybe Three Days Grace and P.O.D. and besides only FIVE! That's a whole lot, not really. Compared to the # of rhytmic-urban songs, which thankfully has gone down over the past few months.

Actually, there are six. I forgot "Someday."
Some of those are questionable, but "Numb", at least, is DEFINITELY hard rock. It doesn't have to be Mudvayne-level to be hard rock.

That was the funniest thing Matt has said that didn't require much intelligence.

All I have to say is that the pop chart is looking much better than a year ago to date. Let's just hope it continues in a good direction.
Is anyone else's station playing the "The Trouble With Love Is" remix? KIIS is and I'm guessing that's what's keeping the song afloat.
