Yet another good music, actually the last for me. By looking at the chart 1999 seems to be an odd year to me, it seems half of the songs I think 1998, and the other half 2000, with the exception of Ricky Martin, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and Lou Bega

Didn't 'Smooth' not make the chart until September? Or August at the earliest? I know Santana's CD came out in June or July and the single didn't hit the chart until well after and it had a really slow rise up before finally hitting #1 in November or something.

That's true, but he's considering the full chart run of all songs that peaked in '99, even if the song did much better the following year. I guess this means that "Smooth" won't appear on the Top Songs of 2000 chart.

Inceidentally, that song was #2 for the Hot 100 of 2000. Great song by the way, and I'm glad to see it at the top of this chart.
