grrr...My Immortal is moving way too slow. Hope they can still meet my #6 peak expectations. Top 5 would be a blessing.

I liked the song and I predicted around a 20 peak-just because it was a fifth single and all. I dont think a 33 peak on billboard for a fifth single and a ballad is anything to hang your head in shame about. :)
I have gotten to the point of "I am sick of every song in the top 10" Before I was like, yay, With You, Toxic, Numb, My Immortal, great top 10! Now I am wishing all of those songs die (except MAYBE My Immortal) and Someday...I cannot even begin to explain how much I hate that song.

As of today's update Christina's fallen 15-31 among currents and 15-39 including recurrents. It seems extremely likely that by Sunday she'll be out of the top 40 including recurrents which means she'll probably drop out of the top 40 without recurrent rules from #19!

It's a shame one of her [red]F[/red] singles('CHUD' and 'Fighter') didn't fall this fast instead.
What the hell happened to Alicia Keys? She was doing just fine with a +200 a little over a week ago and then out of nowhere she lost her bullet.
The worst thing about today's Mediabase update is this:
50 70 KILEY DEAN Who Will I Run To? 266 767 -501 1.422
I don't think I've EVER seen a song with that many spins lose such a high percentage of its airplay in one week. This song deserved so much better.

It's a fifth single for crying out loud! Her "Stripped" single's have gone 14/ 1(4)/5/3/12 on Pop - Not bad at all! And being the most played female artist last year!

Dropping SO disastrously, on the other hand, IS something to be highly ashamed of. It proves that the song held no real appeal past the fame of the artist, as nobody's interested in hearing it after the initial hype.

So? Jeeze. lol. Whenever something happens that is not 100% positive in Christina's career, 50 million people on here want to jump on it and act like its something tragic. Yes its dropping fast. Yes thats disappointing. Is it a tragedy? No. Will it kill her career? No. Should she hide in her house for a month to get over the embarassment? No. Its just a song that is falling fast. Its happened before. It will happen again.

The huge drop just goes to show that the only reason why the song was played was because of the artist name alone. Remember that article that claimed that Pop PDs are so desperate for any pop single from Christina, Justin et al to play to diversify their rap-laden playlists a little?

Maybe it wasn't played on the artists name completely a lone, but I agree. This song didn't do better than another song by a female artist on the chart at the same time ("breathe") because it was more radio-friendly or catchy. If it was "Cruz," it mihgt have been a different story. Depending one where it peaked and how fast it fell.

Actually, TVW peaked at #12 and MATM peaked at #11. So no it didn't. Actually, TVW peaked at #33 on the Hot 100, and MATM peaked at #35. So yes, it did. And her fifth single dropping quickly, is something to be "highly ashamed" of? you guys are just too desperate. :o oh, and its rapid drop "proves", or, "goes to show" absolutely nothing of the sort. But you guys already know you're talking nonsense anyway, so...

I swear to God you guys, just drop this discussion! I mean seriously...both songs suck, did not do well on the chart, and will be forgotten. Whatever...anyways, to change the subject...so much for the "backlash" after the Super Bowl! Janet has the most added song this week, "Just A Little While", with over 80 pop adds. It's already in the Top 40 according to the latest update with a bullet of almost 1200, making it the biggest gainer on the chart!

lol I lost my temper a little. I am feeling nicer today. I just get tired of feeling like most of the people on this board are always searching for ways to slam Christina and bring her down as much as possible in any way possible. Its like, back off As for other chart happenings... My Immortal needs to pick up again :( For awhile it looked like it was trending to have a larger bullet than Toxic, but that didnt happen. Janet is taking off more than I expected with a weaker song than it could have been. But, it is Janet

Is it just me or is Fefe Dobson really struggling? I think perhaps we've overestimated this one. She looks ready to burn out.
I hope Kimberley Locke can go top 20.
Look at Sarah Connor go! I'm amazed by her success. She could jump 35-27 this week if she passes JC Chasez (Who is now bulletless).

I did not think Fefe would do that well-I thought people here were being a tad too optimistic. Its a good song...but I cant see it going top 20. Maroon5, however, is doing better than I thought it would. Bullet still over 500 and at #26 already. The song has helped their album sales as well. I am hoping for top 15....top 10 would be icing on the cake :)

As must be reiterated every week until it FINALLY drops out of the top 40 without recurrent rules, "In Da Club" has been hanging around for way too long. ;)
Top 100 chart run:
78-37-19-11-8-4-2-1-1-1-1-2-4-3-4-7-9-9-12-15-19-23-24-27-28-32-33-33-38-38-38-38-37-34-37-35-37-36-36-37-38-31-31-32-31-34-(36-33)-30-36-36-34-37-36(right now)
Spins: 8/29/03 chart (24 weeks ago): 1878 Now: 1815

That, if you're scoring at home, is 51 weeks in the top 40 (53 counting the break weeks) compared to the "record" 43 weeks for Blues Traveler's "Runaround", which charted where there was no recurrent rule.

A song that just barely made it 20 weeks before dropping below #20 and going recurrent in the first place would probably either have or be very close to the record weeks in the top 40 if there never was any recurrent rule. I don't think even HBAM would've stayed in that long. Not sure about "I'll Be," "Iris," or others.

I think we'll never get to see MI get the quadruple bullet (+1000) at this point, but I'm happy if it stays within the 600-900 bullet range for the next few weeks. I think It'll be snag the #8 spot by late tuesday/early Wed. (maybe even sooner) 'Everything' is a good song, too bad it's struggling. It's definitely much better than Janet's new one.

Stations ignoring FeFe Dobson is a problem. This is the best song on the chart right now, until "Away From the Sun" by 3 Doors Down gets there. And the funny part is...."Everything" the just the style of music and type of song that pop stations play...so why aren't they playing it? Too scared to add an unknown (or barely known) artist? I will be angry if this song loses a bullet soon.

Oh great!! Just another reason to make me hate him even more!
I'm hoping they'll go top 10, right now it looks like they have a decent chance because there are a lot of songs that I don't see going top 10, I have a feeling that Hilary Duff will burn out around #14 or something. Their album could go platinum soon, how many copies so far? If "This Love" goes top 10 maybe Maroon 5 could become the next 3 Doors Down, with slightly smaller hits.
