First, let me mention that of course R.E.M has released many singles throughout their career spanning 23 years and going, so I chose the eight most commerically-successful singles as the candidates for the poll.
Along with saying your favorite from the poll, also say your favorite R.E.M song that is NOT on the poll. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are the top eight and their CHR/Pop peaks:
#1: Losing My Religion (Peaked at #4) #2: Stand (Peaked at #6) #3: Bang And Blame: (Peaked at #8) #4: Everybody Hurts (Peaked at #9) #5: (three way tie peak at #10) - What's The Frequency, Kenneth? - Shiny Happy People - Man On The Moon #8: Drive (peaked at #11)
******Other R.E.M CHR/Pop peaks******
The One I Love (Peaked at #13) Strange Currencies (Peaked at #18) Bittersweet Me (Peaked at #25) The Great Beyond (Peaked at #38)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

And my vote is for "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?"
My favorite non-poll track of theirs is "New Test Leper"
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Drive" is the best among those listed. "The One I Love" is their second best, in my opinion.

I'll be obvious and say "Losing My Religion".
Out of those that didn't make it on the poll, "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" would be my choice.

I chose "Bang and Blame", but "Everybody Hurts" and "Man on the Moon" were about even with it. I also like "Drive", "Losing My Religion", their song I hear the most, and even more "The One I Love", their song I hear the second most. "Bittersweet Me" would be among my favorites and among their most underrated, as their songs generally tend to be.

Out of these eight, I voted for "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?", and out of the rest, I'll say "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". I like the recent "Bad Day" almost as much, but since I won't be hearing anything besides self-inflicted airplay of it, it probably won't be going over the top.

'Kenneth' got my vote!
Didn't they also have 'E-Bow The Letter' or whatever the followup to that was make the chart in 97 for a week or two?

In the Billboard Hot 100
The One I love #9 Stand #6 Losing my religion #4 Shinny Happy People #10 Drive #28 Everybody hurts #29 What's the frecuency, Kenneth? #21 Bang and blame #19
are the biggest hits (Man on the moon hit #30)... I didn't know there was too much difference between R&R and Billboard!!
Well, but here we're talking about R&R so I choose "Man On the moon"
Non in the poll "Find the river" right now

Stand is my favorite on the list and not being very original, but It's The End of The World As WE KNow It is my favorite tune not on the list. I like a lot of their tunes on the eponymous cd.

"Losing My Religion" both in this poll and overall.
Of songs not listed, probably "The One I Love" or "ITEOTWAWKI(AIFF)"

I vote "Drive" on song alone, but "Stand" is the best video.

I generally don't like REM, but I was very into "Whats the Frequency Kenneth". Good rock track.
Plus the story behind it is great. Apparantly some guy asked "What's the Frequency Kenneth?" to Dan Rather, and then beat him up when Rather didnt answer. I just find that funny.

I vote "Drive" on song alone, but "Stand" is the best video. "Stand" was a great video (almost all their videos are) but my all-time favorite video of theirs has to be for "Everybody Hurts". Brilliant directing and acting on Stipe's part. "Nightswimming" was also a brilliant video. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Losing My Religion" is not only my favorite REM song, but one of my favorite songs of the '90s.
"What's The Frequency, Kenneth" and "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" are probably next up in my mind as far as REM songs go...

Losing My Religion followed closely by Man on the Moon
I don't know any of the others, except for Everybody Hurts...I can picture the video but don't remember how the song goes...I think they are in a car, with subtitles...it's depressing and I remember hating it
