1) Eminem- Hasn't saved many songs lately, he's mostly on his and D-12's songs.
2) Nelly- One of the most popular rappers, but has only been on a few songs featuring himself ("Where The Party At?")
3) Ludacris- Maybe the most versatile rapper, who has made the most hit songs. ("Yeah!", "Gossip Folks", "Holidae In")
4) Lil' Kim- Maybe the best female rapper out (With Eve and Missy Being The Competition) who has made the hits "Can't Hold Us Down" and "Lady Marmalade" even hotter.
5) Petey deleted- Break-out rapper of 2004 who everyone thought was a one hit wonder. His verse on Ciara's "Goodies" is currently tearing the charts up.
6) Chingy- Adding his flow to Houston's "I Like That" definitely didn't have a bad effect on the song. Chingy A.K.A. Jackpot was one of the biggest rappers of 2003-2004, and on top of that, he became famous with his debut album!
7) 50 Cent- "Magic Stick", "Work It (Remix)", and many more rap songs greatly benefited from 2003's Most POPULAR and best new artist. Vote G-Unit.
8) Sean Paul- This import helped Beyonce's "Baby Boy" and Blu Cantrell's "Breathe" receive tons of radio love from both Urban and Pop.

Ludacris. I don't like the stuff he does by himself, but I love the stuff he does with other artists.

I'd say Ludacris' verse was the only good part of Usher's "Yeah!" However, it wasn't enough to turn it into an A+ song.

I wouldn't say any of them are a sure bet (sometimes a song will suck no matter who is on it), but Ludacris has a proven record in my book.

Ludacris. I don't like the stuff he does by himself, but I love the stuff he does with other artists. I agree with ludacris and with Sean Paul in second.

All of them can turn an A or a B song into a D song in a heartbeat

I don't think any of them could do it. I picked Eminem cause he'd probably come closest, although he hasn't really added much to D12's latest material (despite it being almost all him). Maybe a D- to a B, or a C to an A, at best. Ludachris and Lil' Kim have that potential as well.

Even though 50 Cent was obviously the most used (Come on, Michelle Branch f/ 50 cent "Are You Happy Now"? :'( :'( :'(), i think eminem could take a pile of crap and make it gold. Most recent example was "My Band". They never got that much radio support but once he made that song into a carbon copy of "My Name Is" and "Without Me", it became a hit.

None of them will drastically improve a song for me but Ludacris made me like Usher's "Yeah" a lot which wouldn't have been the case otherwise, so I voted for Ludacris.

Ludacris. I don't like the stuff he does by himself, but I love the stuff he does with other artists. Agreed. It was Ludacris who brought Usher's 'Yeah' from the Top 60 or something into my Top 20!

IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED!!! Ludacris is the #1 Rapper to Pick to have a *better* song. (Not saying a guaranteed hit, just that he makes songs *better*!) None of these rappers can turn a D- song into even a D song, but they have proven themselves capable of turning an A song into a D song. I would have voted for Eminem if the poll was still open as he is not as pernicious as the others.

Minor quibble: I don't see the point of locking a poll and determining a winner so quickly ??? People still want to vote. Especially since the winner would've been Eminem by now if the poll's still open.

You need a hug, sir. So mad at rap music...but why? Why do you portray such anger at rappers.

Because I love music, and rap is hardly musical. They've displaced real music, especially soul, which I like very much, on pop and R&B radio, because they are catering to kids whose appreciation for music isn't yet developed, but who are making most of the requests and buying most of the records.
Rap is not the only type of "music" that bugs me, but also those annoying bratty vocals ala Simple Plan that's getting too ubiquitous, and the fake attitude vocals for females ala Avril Lavigne and now Ashlee Simpson, and the pop fluff that we're accustomed to hearing from Ashlee's sister among others, and the dull, monotonous songs that you mostly hear on AC, Hot AC, and AAA.
It seems that for the most part, the elements that make great music: a strong melody, emotion or soul, interesting rhythms, good vocals, skilled playing of instruments, beautiful harmonies, and creativity these days are being discouraged.
