Those are the nominees? Ew! I'll go with Tim McGraw.

If I Ain't Got You... and it better be! >:( Tim's song is just way too ordinary/generic... I don't see what the fuss is.

"Daughters", I guess. Though I was tempted to give "The Reason" a vote to get rid of its goose-egg. I still think "Clarity" should be Mayer's entry here, but I guess "Daughters" is good enough.

it's a shame that "the reason" is even nominated.

I'd pick Alicia Keys out of this boring group of songs.

I know...all the songs released last year and this is the best they could come up with? "If I Ain't Got You" is one of the most overrated songs of the year, if not ever, yet I think it'll win by default. Hoobstank is the only one in here that I actually want to win, and I don't even want it to win that badly.

Tim McGraw by a mile. Alicia has the only other worthy song here.

This one's a toss-up in my mind.
Alicia Keys and John Mayer are the two names that come to my mind here, though Kanye West can steal this honor as well.
However, "Jesus Walks" was never a real big hit, so I'll keep him out of the picture.
Tim McGraw has the strongest hit of his career, but I don't see enough potential to sweep the panel here.
Hoobastank, not a chance.
I believe John Mayer has a lot of potential here, with "Daughters" making waves across multiple formats. And with its peak performance yet to come, I believe more will be seduced in time for the Grammys.
Both songs have strong messages. Alicia Keys' is the more genuine one of the two to me. She swept the Grammys before, and she can make yet another impact.
I will give this one to Alicia, but John Mayer is a strong underdog.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Oh no! This group is even worse than "record of the year". How could "Daughters" get on such a list? It's among the most pathetic songs this year. On the other hand, "Clarity" would get my vote if it were the nominee. "Jesus Walks" is another one I can't stand, but with the rise of religious fanaticism here and around the world, it must be the odds on favorite. "If I Ain't Got You" probably is the most deserving, but I voted for Hoobastank, because "The Reason" is a good song, and certainly one of the biggest of the year, and not deserving of being so far behind. It's also probably the most played, which is why most people would be tired of it by now. Tim McGraw's song is boring. Actually, this is quite a boring group of songs, come to think of it.

Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" should have been nominated in this category I believe.
I don't know one person who hates this song. Occasionally you get the "eh, it got overplayed!" but many STILL enjoy this and many even consider it the best U.K guitar single in years.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Alicia rocked too.
