Avril's bullet is going up again. From being around 100 she is now 199. I wonder how high she'll be able to go. Top 10 maybe.

Maroon5 has slowed and Usher's gain has picked up. I thought for sure M5 would've made it to #1 yesterday. I hope they can still do it.

This just about assures that we'll see two songs with over 9000 spins simultaneously.

This just about assures that we'll see two songs with over 9000 spins simultaneously. two crappy songs with over 9000 spins you mean. Anywho, anybody else surprised "Hey Mama" has managed to creep into the top 20 and maintain a steady bullet? Who'dve guessed we'd ever see a moderate hit from BEP again? But good for them though. A Few More Observations: -Beyonce has got a quadruple bullet and is about to enter the top 10. Now, I don't know how she has been able to fare so well with her fourth single, but my guess is that people hear a bit of Baby Boy in the song and want it played a thousand times a day again. -Jessica and Evanescence will stick around in the top 10 for a while. -"My Band" is currently the only quadruple bullet digit in the top 10. (Is this the first time this year?) I predict a future #1 hit, although I honestly never thought this song would make it this far and still be going strong. -And wow! Who'dve thought Jessica Simpson would get this far with a crappy 3rd single as well? I can definitely see her scoring a 2nd consecutive top 10 hit for the year.

Ooh Avril is over +200 now, but even though the 2 songs in front of her are unbulleted Mario Winans and Usher are right behind her, so she might as well peak at #17.

I can't believe Nickelback is losing so little and is now ranked above Linkin Park.

D12's gains really are pretty amazing, especially considering that their bullet had previously gone down to about 600 (while Hoobastank and J-Kwon were ahead of them in gains), and now their at 1130!
Beyonce will definitely enter the Top 10 by this Sunday's final update, i.e. in just her fourth week in the Top 40.
See ya Sarah Connor!

I'm surprised Ev didn't just have the bottom fall out. At one point, they were at -700 + now they're at -400.
Maroon 5's gonna make it to #1 but it might not be this week.
4 quad bulleted songs :o
What's up with that? Is this close to a record?
What the heck happened to I'm Ready? I remember last week or so it had a pretty healthy bullet. Now it'll be just lucky enough to garner a minor pop hit.
Go Switchfoot :)
It's pulling a Falls On Me. I hope it does better, but I doubt it'd get that far.

This situation reminds me of Jade Anderson's "Sugarhigh". It came out of nowhere with like 50 adds its impact week and made the top 50 pretty quickly, but fizzled out pretty quickly with a #32 peak. The same type of thing will probably happen here (I guess you could say it's already starting to happen).

umm... maybe not. M5's gain is down to +214 now. I saw that! What happened?!?!? :o This is BAD....I only wanted Usher at #1 for 1 week. Maroon 5 is so much more deserving. Why does Chingy have a bullet again? Even if he keeps the bullet, he will probably be backwards bulleted.... And hooray for Cassidy being resurged.......this song is much more desrving of a Top 10 then "One Call Away" or "Yeah." Jessica Simpson is back into the 500s, Mario Winans can't quite back a quad bullet, he only has +999. "I Don't Wanna Know" has all the makings to go to #1. Top 3 at least. Kimberlely Locke, after going strong, suddenly fizzles out....... >:( She might not make Top 20.

Not anymore, Beyonce has now reached the top 10 with a +1069 bullet. There are 4 songs with quadruple bullets, all of which are rhythmic songs, what a bunch of crap! The chart is starting to get worse again.

Woo hoo, good Pop Chart!
I hope that Maroon5 doesn't make it to #1. Even though I do like it, a greatly overrated song like that shouldn't make it there.

He likes the song, but not as much as (seemingly) everyone else. Plus he's a rhythmic fan, so he hasn't minded most of the #1 hits over the past couple of years.

The same type of thing will probably happen here (I guess you could say it's already starting to happen). When I saw Cherie's 42 adds and +600 gain, Jade Anderson came to mind too. I think it's pretty obvious there was a little money behind both songs the first week. Especially since both songs got less than 10 indicator adds.

Maybe Maroon5 will pull an "Everything You Want", not hitting number one on the weekly chart, but topping the year end chart. That would be only the third time this has happened (Come on, you KNOW the other song that did it!)

I wouldn't mind seeing Usher at #1 for a few more weeks.
If J-Kwon, Hoobastank (for now, I hope I don't get sick of it soon), Beyoncé, Mario Winans or Usher ("Burn") were to hit #1, I wouldn't mind. I don't really like "My Band" *that* much though, so I wouldn't want that at #1 either.

Having four songs in the Top 20 with a bullet of over 1000 really is pretty amazing...and it's even more amazing that two of those are also in the Top 10!

Why does pop seem so willing to play boring rhythmic songs at not boring Hot AC songs? I'm referring to "I Don't Want to Know," I like the song at all, but I just don't think it sounds all that good of pop radio.

Last night, I was looking through hard copies of my old CHR Flashbacks from the old R&R boards (yes, I know I'm way behind on those on this board; I'll get to them eventually) and read my first one from the year 1994. I made a prediction that, since rap and hip hop music seemed to dominate the music scene in 1991 then again in 2001, that Alternative music would take over by the year 2004, like it had on the pop chart in 1994. Looks like that's not to be. Of course, comparing the charts from this time in 1994 and now is rather like comparing apples to oranges, since the chart was still mixed (although this week in 1994 was the last chart before the PPW era started). But still, I doubt that Alternative music will suddenly abound on next week's chart. We'll have to see how things pan out, but one thing has, for the most part, remained constant since then - the year end chart has usually been topped by a Rock or Alternative leaning song. As I said, I hope the same holds true this year, namely, with "This Love". And as I also said, it's entirely possible that it could follow in the footsteps of "Everything You Want" and "Hanging By A Moment".

The only thing about "this love", is that the third single from Maroon 5 could be #1 reducing the play of This Love. She Will Be Loved could be the #1 rock ballad of the year, if you even want to consider it rock. It's pretty AC, but it still sounds great, definitely a classic.

I think expectations of "She Will Be Loved" are too high.

Stop giving up so easily. Usher's going to fall soon because his new single is #20 and where is Maroon5's new single? Exactly.
