I cannot believe this!! :o How on earth did " The Reason Yeah" become a top 3 hit?? This is probably the biggest overrated song that I've heard of all this year. I can't believe that such a dreadful piece has become so successful at mainstream. Shame on you pop radio! Ugh.

Sean Paul has slowed down by about 100 spins, possibly allowing Nickelback to hold on for a 32nd week in the top 50. They'll be gone (along with Linkin Park and OutKast) next week though. Murphy Lee also (technically) goes recurrent this week.

Yet, thanks for charting "Yeah," on your personal chart mst3k! Hehe! LOL! Shhh... ;) I like "Yeah", but it only peaked around #21 on my chart. I sure as heck never wanted it to spend multiple weeks at #1 nationally! :)

:( I've just decided on my #1 of the year. And then I read such negative criticisms of it. :o So sorry my bad, I'll be milder in my opinion of "The Reason," what I really meant to say is that I am quite surprised that such a haunting track can make the top 3. You see, I'm really trying. :) Hehe.

How can you decide that less than halfway into the year? Because (1) My #1 song of the year typically spends at least 36 weeks on the chart i.e. so it has to be on the chart already. (2) I know I'll never get sick of "The Reason". Well I might change my mind. Last November, I decided on "Unwell" as my #1 after thinking it would be "Bring Me To Life" for several months. Not that I got sick of "BMTL," I just realized I liked "Unwell" more, and still do.

Congrats to Maroon 5! I forgot to mention that. "This Love," is an awesome song.

I just realized something.
D12's "My Band" could potentially backwards-bullet 3*-4*-5*-6* if it holds on to a small bullet next week. The last time a song did exactly this was Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" and I think "Without Me" also backwards-bulleted 3 spots, but that was 1*-2*-3*-4*.
The Top 7 sure is competitive. If Burn picks up and D12 maintains its bullet, D12 may move 3-4-5-6-7 bulleted, and be #7 with over 7000 spins. :o

"What's Luv?" didn't quite do it as it was bulletless the week it fell 5-6. "Without Me" did that though. The top 7 would become less competitive if "Yeah" would die already. Argh.

Sean Paul, though he still has a bullet, is actually losing spins now - so he may be close to done.
At the same time Nickelback is currently out of the Top 20, but is only 5 behind Sean Paul. It'll be a photo finish between those two.
It seems the curtain has now fallen on Simple Plan (-49).
Whoa, earlier this week I was worried about Anastacia, Lil' Flip, and Sarah Hudson all passing Hanson. Now Hanson's out-gaining all three and is still ahead. :o

Wow, I think it's been at least 2 years since the #50 song had this few spins. The Lostprophets lost 6 spins from yesterday.:( Yay! 311 debuts!

So Murphy Lee gets the vacuum effect from Nickelback and Linkin Park and it ends up sending him to recurrent. *sigh* Of course, both Nickelback and Linkin Park going recurrent means Britney will move up to 26! Look at Hanson go! Hurray for them and for radio for at least giving this a shot. It's a good song and I hope others follow the lead and start playing it.

I really think Hanson will start catching on the next couple of weeks, I really see this going to the Top 25.

So how come on the 11:29pm PST update, only Nickelback is showing as recurrent? ???

So Murphy Lee gets the vacuum effect from Nickelback and Linkin Park and it ends up sending him to recurrent. *sigh* I really don't think it works that way. Meanwhile, WOOHOO!! Linkin Park is still on the chart! Hehe... Maybe they added a station to the panel that plays a lot of "Burn" - since that song's gain went up to over 800 suddenly. So Linkin Park would have remained in the Top 20 if not for the panel change hence they decided to let LP stay anyway. Nickelback is gone either way.

Linkin Park has been sent to recurrent as of this morning. However, Murphy Lee was never sent to recurrent as it is still at #52. Perhaps the vacuum didn't work for that song after all...
