Much like Joel Whitburn's Billboard book or Chart guy's comprehensive r&r CHR site, is there a book or website listing peak positions of every pop hit in Candian chart history?
Now THAT would be interesting!

As far as Canadian charts go, Nanda Lwin is pretty much the authority. He has several books out, and I believe they are available in Chapters stores and online at Amazon.

I was looking into Canadian airplay data a couple years back, but the info is so spotty.
Canoe was posting the BDS pop chart a few years ago, and there was "The Record" magazine. Then, there was a period of time between that ended and "Canadian Music Network" started up. The BDS data during that down period is very difficult to find.

arson;I BELIEVE THE RECORD CEASED OPERATION IN JANUARY 2000,AFTER THAT FROM JANUARY TO MAY 2000 THERE WERE NO BDS CHARTS UNTIL THE CANADIAN MUSIC NETWORK STARTED. THERE WERE TWO CANADIANS MAGAZINE AVAILABLE.
R.P.M.MAGAZINE WEEKLY HAS BEEN THE LONGEST CANADIAN MAG IT STARTED OPERATION IN FEBRUARY 1964 UNTIL IT'S DEATH IN 1999.THE RECORD STARTED IN 1980. I DO HAVE CANADIAN MUSIC NETWORK YEAR-END 2000-2003 YEAR-END.

The magazine itself didn't start until May of 2001. ;) Also, please stop typing in all caps. It's considered yelling. Thanks.

I wonder what Nanda Lwin is up to and if he has any more plans for other Canadian music books? He has also corresponded with me in the past.
BTW I have many copies of RPM magazines, most from 1976 to 1980, and then in dribs and drabs throughout the 80's (unfortunately they're not accessible right now, in storage until I move house in November).

I received an email from Nanda a few weeks ago in which he mentioned that he is currently working on updating his "Top 40 Hits: The Essential Chart Guide" book. He is also still writing Chart Talk columns which now appear in the Hamilton Spectator newspaper.

Unfortunately one can't read The Hamilton Spectator online without a subscription.
