This is looking like the second single. Supposedly a remix is being shipped out according to Friday Morning Quarterback.

I don't think this was the wisest decision for a second single.
When Jay-Z is stamped on something, normally he'll make a track do something, but with "99 Problems" making its way up the chart, it's going to interfere anyway.
Besides, I believe "Calling All Angels" would be a better candidate.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think he's going to flop regardless of what he puts out so Virgin is probably like "hopefully Jay-Z can resurrect this dead album." ...and "Calling All Angels," while probably being the most pop friendly, sounds like blatant plagiarism of All-4-One's "I Swear".

Considering his album is already down #75 and he's cancelling tour dates left and right, I'd say Lenny is in a very bad point in his career right now.

I like the album version much more. The sample sounds so ridiculous to me and it's sad to see Lenny Kravitz try to be urban just because mainstream won't embrace his music now. SELL OUT!

What do you mean? Lenny has had Urban support before.... He only puts out an Urban song here and there when he feels like it. Has nothing to do with selling out at all. @ the rediculous accusation.

Lenny has never put out a hip-hop song before. His only big urban hit was "It Ain't Over Til It's Over" and that was just a Motown vibe pop-rock song.

My point is that I hardly think Lenny is selling out at all.

My point is that I hardly think Lenny is selling out at all. I have to disagree, he seems to eager too please everyone, especially the younger generations, and still have commercial success while supposedly sticking to his Rock roots.

LENNY HAS NEVER BEEN HIP-HOP DOING REMIXES WITH PEOPLE LIKE JUST BLAZE. I don't even see what you're arguing.

Just that "sell out" is such an overused term.

I think this song's not bad at all, but Lenny seems out of place. Which is bad since it's HIS single. I can hear like Maxwell doing this and making it a hit. I don't know what this will do.
As far as selling out, maybe. Or maybe he's really passionate about doing some music in a different style. Either way it IS a departure for him; having one Urban hit that wasn't really intended for Urban doesn't mean he's "always been at Urban".

He's always tried to do different stuff than what he's done before. Every now and then he departs from his rock roots to record a pop or an semi urban song.... But just because someone wants to do something different hardly means they are selling out. If that were the case then Madonna would be selling out with every album.

There was also a hip hop remix of Again that featured Outkast. Sell Out is an overused term that's the point. Lenny has always tried to do different stuff with his albums and singles releases... why should he stop now?

It's not like this song WAS urban. The fact that he flopped and then did an urban REMIX is what makes him look desperate.

Then he should have done an urban song in the first place. Instead he did a remix. Just Blaze is even worse. He works with the Roc-A-Fella camp. How is that not comparable to Scott Storch and Kanye West?

In any case Lenny was no stranger to hip hop remixes of songs that weren't hip hop songs to begin with. Not to mention when he did it before it was remixes of songs that were already bonafide hits. So was Jennifer Lopez a sell out? Was Madonna a sell out? Singers can sing whatever the hell they want but that doesn't necessarily relegate them to sell out status if they decide to do something different from time to time. That's my point.

Jennifer Lopez has always been urban. Madonna never appeared desperate. She never was in a situation where she put out several rock albums and then when one flopped, she started remixing it with hip-hop producers to get it to sell.
