I never put my thoughts on it. lol
Other than Eartha Kitt's version, this is the only other rendition which I find tolerable. Eartha nailed it and Madonna was... close enough. I really hate that there are so many covers of this song and none of them even get the song at all.

Eartha once said, "I used to have fun singing this.. until Madonna sang it..."  Madonna obviously didn't go into her version with the intent of putting on a great vocal or anything- it couldn't be more tongue-in-cheek if she literally planted her tongue on Eartha's rear cheek. |

^I mentioned this in the Madonna thread, but I see you had seen this already.  No new numbers, but the Holiday Songs chart does blend airplay, sales and streaming info. Would be nice if the digital catalog chart leaks before the season ends. |

The track appeared on the 1987 album, A Very Special Christmas (which remains one of the best holiday releases, and definitely the best of that series). I just found this album in my dad's collection of music. It's pretty damn fantastic. He thinks we have the A Very Special Christmas 2 somewhere, but alas, I can't find it. |

After a few years of album-only availability, this, and all A Very Special Christmas tracks are available individually again (a few of the album's tracks had been available via other digital means, like Whitney Houston's "Do You Hear What I Hear?").

"Santa Baby" returned to the Holiday 100 (Dec. 10 chart), at No. 79*. It previously logged two weeks in 2011, when the chart was 50 positions.
Last year, it returned to individual-track availability, as the tracks on A Very Special Christmas had been album-only for a few seasons or so.
