I just hope Maroon 5 gets there first. Are Lips Are Sealded gaining again? Must be because of the movie comeing out. Accidentally In Love- What happened? From 200 to like 50 :o, hopefully it will pick up again. Scandalous may just make the top 10 at #10. Naughty Girl- This Love- and Yeah are all like 200 ahead of it, while Pieces Of Me and Turn Me On are also 200 behind it. So if it can maintain a bullet it should land at #10 or heopfully #8 Angels and Echo have had it. Ocean Avenue get ride of it already!!!

Vice-versa (other than I think Rick kept it on his chart) is the case for AIL, hence its bullet shrinking.

Why are all the bullets so low? A week or so ago there were 9 songs with over +600 and the top jumper had over +1000. This week the biggest gainer has only +699 and there's only two bullets with over +600 (Maroon 5 and Avril).

Fourth of July programming?
Everyone took a long weekend off and didn't bother to update their playlists?

Oh god, it looks like "Yeah!" could move back up THREE spots to #8 this coming week.

I still think "Yeah" will be #11. Only 207 spins separate #8 and #13 right now, and I think Kevin Lyttle will jump all the way up to #8.
Predicted #8-#13 for 7/16/04:
14 08 4750 Kevin Lyttle Turn Me On 13 09 4700 Ashlee Simpson Pieces of Me 12 10 4675 Mis-Teeq Scandalous 11 11 4600 Usher Yeah! 07 12 4450 Beyonce Naughty Girl 09 13 4450 Maroon 5 This Love

Ashlee Simpson better not get a number 1 song. It will be interesting to see how much she sells her first week. I predict 35k. And JoJo will probably drop quickly. Her album did not sell well this week...48k. Programmers will realize the song's not as popular as once thought. I hope that Maroon 5 gets another number 1. They deserve it. Their album...Songs About Jane...is awesome!! That new Avril song sucks. But I think it'll do another Don't Tell Me. LoL at Jessica Simpson with Angels. Looks like she won't have another hit again. Angels flopped.

My point was the complaints about Kevin Lyttle...it's not like he's going to be around for the next 5 years, hell, a year from now people will be like...Kevin who?? It's not like you are going to have to suffer through hearing him all over the radio for the next year or whatever the time may be. So the complaints are kind of foolish to me, seeing as how he will in all likelihood be a one-hit wonder and never heard from again. Just let him have his hit and fade away, never to be seen or heard from again, that's all. Don't be so quick to write off Kevin. Many thought the same about Beenie Man and Sean Paul, yet they are still making hits. I didn't think Beenie Man would have a second top 40 hit after "Feel It Boy," and then he surprises us with his raunchy and over the top hit called "Dude." But I do think it is highly likely that Kevin will be a one-hit wonder.

Which reggae artist can really 'sing,' per se? I don't really think reggae artists are the most vocally gifted because the genre doesn't seem to really require it. I think it depends more on an artist's distinguishable vocal character in order to make it in reggae. If you take a look at all of the Coolie Riddim songs, they demonstrate four different kind of vocals using the same beat, Nina Sky's "Move Ya Body," Mr. Vegas' "Pull Up," Pitbull, "Culo," and Elephant Man, "Jook Gal." (I don't think any of these artists are outstanding singers) I think a distinct vocal sound over beats is more important than a reggae artist's vocal range or how well they sing. Speaking of reggae, everytime I check Beenie Man's "Dude" at Mediabase his bullet keeps going up.

As long as an artist has some kind of 'character' in their voice, then they can really make it in reggae. True... Shaggy sure as hell didn't have a singing voice, and look how well he did for awhile (stretchin' the definition of reggae there, I suppose).

Please let Scandalous pass Yeah and keep Pieces Of Me down to land at #9. It's bullet has went up from under 100 to over 100 Ashlee's next song- I couldn't see it going top 10. I think it was just her name that got her this hit. I still think she could have done a better viedo, but maybe not. Slow Motion needs to start going Slow!!!

So does anyone know if 3 Doors Down's Away From The Sun will in fact be moved to recurrent on Sunday? This will mark its 21st week in the top 50.

Will Mediabase bend the rules for this one? It's almost got a 3-digit bullet. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

What's the chart run for the song so far? Seems like it's been around forever but at the same time, I don't remember it doing all that well.

I'm quite glad to see newcomers like Ashlee Simpson and Kevin Lyttle make it too. I really like the top 10 the way it is right now, a great and diverse selection of artists, IMO.

Last week, Jay-Z had 2 top 40 hits. This week, he'll have 0! :O
How often does this happen? I think Justin Timberlake accomplished this because Where is the Love and Rock Your Body went recurrent the same week (or was it Senorita?)

When was the last time there were 7 top 50 debuts (which looks to be happening this week)?

Actually, if 3 Doors Down goes recurrent, 99 Problems will likely hang on at #40, unless Lloyd Banks surpasses it. Don't forget there will be three recurrents this week if 3DD is removed.
If Lloyd Banks does pass 99 Problems, that would mean five top-40 debuts for the first time since March.

I must confess, the three "pieces of shit" that completely "turn me off" reaching the Top 10 simultaneously is absolutely "scandalous".

Woah. Gotta give it up for the ladies of Mis-teeq. I thought they were done for sure when they lost their bullet a couple of weeks ago, but they're top 10 now. I don't think they will pull a "Fighter" but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least no. 8 and then expect their bullet to extinguish.
I'm surprised If I Ain't Got You is still gaining this late. The song was quite a fast burner for me, but then again, the world doesn't revolve around me.

I think the duet remix version with Usher is relatively new and probably giving the song a second lease on life. My local pop station just added that version.
