JoJo is now Number 1 on Mediabase and is 3,226 spins ahead of the top song gaining more than her ("Turn Me On") and 4,061 spins ahead of the top song gaining more than 500 ("Move Ya Body"). Modest Mouse is now in the Top 50. Sugarcult is trying to make the chart but could be jumped over by Lil' Flip featuring Lea.

It looks like we'll have 2 months of JoJo at #1. The next #1 should be Kevin Lyttle or Maroon5.

I hate that song and wish it the absolute worst. I've been having to deal with that train wreck since 2002, and now I'm gonna have to deal with it the whole summer. I LOATHE IT.

Three songs (Black Eyed Peas, J-Kwon, & 3 Doors Down) should go recurrent this week. If the present trends continued through the week, we'd have five top 40 debuts, but three or four is probably more likely. The bottom of the top 40 is going to have particularly low spin totals.
I doubt it. Everyone seems to say that every time a new song hits number one, but it very rarely happens. I don't see this one sticking around for more than about four weeks.

I'm praying for Avril to get the next #1. . . I think it will be between her and Maroon 5. All the songs in the teens are slowing down too much with maybe the exception of MYB.

Ok, Ok, Ok, I understand. I'm happy that Kevin Lyttle doing so well. It is first hit at CHR and I would like it for to be his first #1. Maroon 5 had a #1 single already, "This Love," and a top 10 hit "Harder To Breathe," and is about to do quite well with the single you are rooting for called "She Will Be Loved." However, I think it is time for pop radio to give fresh faces like Kevin a chance to hit the top. They are already doing it with JoJo and hopefully Kevin will follow suit.

Wow! Could this be the first #1 that I've never actually heard before?

However, I think it is time for pop radio to give fresh faces like Kevyn a chance to hit the top. They are already doing it with JoJo and hopefully Kevyn will follow suit. I'm not necessarily rooting for Maroon5 though. I'd be happy for ANYTHING else to hit #1.

Considering the huge slide by JoJo on the album charts, I think programmers will realize this song is not as popular as they think it is. I'm guessing it starts losing spins in another couple of weeks and it spends four weeks at #1 at most. Let's not rule out Ashlee Simpson for #1.

I know, which is why I mentioned Kevin Lyttle. In all likelihood I think Maroon5 will be #1 but they're simply too far away so I suspect something else will sneak in there for a few weeks to warm the seat for them.

LOL!
Unfortunately, since I'm on dialup for a week, unless I hear the song on the radio or take the time to download it, I won't hear JoJo until next week.
I'm also willing to bet, or make a prediction here and now that Maroon 5 won't hit #1.

Whoa! "The Reason" is losing 805 plays while the play loss of "This Love" is only 490. Could it still be possible....?

It's so good to see "Confessions" with a low bullet (for Usher).

A graphical representation of my year-to-date calculations, for those that like that sort of thing: The number assigned to each song on the right is the number of spins the song had last week.

It's so good to see "Confessions" with a low bullet (for Usher). That's only because the If I Ain't Got You remake and Confessions Pts. I and III are going to steal its airplay

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that "Yeah" will best both in the end. Unless "Yeah" suddenly gets an anchor attached to it, "This Love" won't beat it at the rate both are going. And "The Reason", I don't think, has what it takes to win, either.
Call me crazy, but that's my story, and I'll stick to it until I see that things are otherwise.

I'm pretty sure "Confessions Part III" counts towards "Confessions Part II."

Who cares, even if Kevin Lyttle DOES hit #1, he's never going to get there again, so what's the big deal?
As much as I love it (and I've been hearing it for over 2 years now) "Turn Me On" has summer one-hit wonder written ALL over it.
I like both versions of the song...Im more accustomed to the version with Alison Hinds, it's better than the one POP plays, but this one isn't bad either.

Yeah, who cares if anyone hits #1? This whole board is pointless!! ;) Well, we are some of the only people who care about the R&R charts (except for radio people I guess, and there don't seem to be a whole lot of them around here).

Yeah, who cares if anyone hits #1? This whole board is pointless!! ;) I don't really follow, but...whatever My point was the complaints about Kevin Lyttle...it's not like he's going to be around for the next 5 years, hell, a year from now people will be like...Kevin who?? It's not like you are going to have to suffer through hearing him all over the radio for the next year or whatever the time may be. So the complaints are kind of foolish to me, seeing as how he will in all likelihood be a one-hit wonder and never heard from again. Just let him have his hit and fade away, never to be seen or heard from again, that's all.

How come no one is suspecting Ashlee Simpson to hit #1? Her bullet is almost the same size as Kevin's.
