And what's wrong with Kanye West? He's extremely talented. Some of you are acting like it's a terrible choice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you say you hated him a few months ago?

Lets be a litte more realistic here. Can you honestly tell me that you can one day imagine yourself going to Billboard.com and seeing Mariah's single on the charts right next to Beyonce and Alicia Keys? That's stretching it.

I commend Mariah for at least hooking up with a classier rapper like Kanye this time around rather than stooping to the level of a fool like Lloyd Banks.

As a Jessica Simpson fan, you should have learned to expect the unexpected. (recalls the topic about "With You" in which I was the only one who had enough faith in the song to call it a "future #1 smash.")

I honestly think Island is not going to let this album do as poorly as her last two albums. They've already put tremendous amounts of money into it (I wouldn't be surprised if this is her most expensive album to date) and are ready to promote the hell out of it. Yes -- think positive! I'm sure your sweet little Mariah will be back on top -- right where she belongs. I have a good feeling about this!

I dont think anything is wrong with Kanye West...just I personally have not liked his music. It might be great....but when you dislike an artist's music and hate every collaboration they have done...its not wrong to have a slightly "ug" feeling about knowing they will be on a song.

I would rather have Mariah doing poorly on the charts with great materials, than the other way around.
And lohanfan, who would've thought Hilary Duff's debut album would reach #1 and sell +3 million. Exactly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you say you hated him a few months ago? I don't know why I would ever say that considering "You Don't Know My Name" topped my chart, "All Falls Down" hit #2, Janet's "I Want You" hit #4, "Talk About Our Love" hit #7.. on my chart.

It's the same for me. Aside from maybe Alicia Keys' single, I've hated all his songs and collabos. That could easily change though.

Well based on this info, my expectations for this new album will be lower than normal.

What's funny is that everyone has an opinion on what she should do and is interested in what she's putting out. Everyone has their own favorite Mariah whether it's the R&B Mariah, the pop Mariah, or the AC ballad Mariah. No matter what she does she can't please them all.

Exactly and looking at the Hot 100, most people would be interested in an R&B Mariah.

Though I don't particularly care for Mariah's hiphop-ish songs, this is probably the best direction she can take now. With Kanye on it, it's guaranteed to at least be more successful than "Through the Rain."
I wish she'd return to the quality songwriting and the general type of music of "Without You," "Hero," etc. Oh well.
I'll wait till I hear this to pass judgement.

I could see this being a big surprise; just look at last year - her feature spot on I Know What You Want didn't hurt one bit.

Wow 4th page already and the thread is just 2 days old.
I head this is midtempo track, to the other poster asking. Im still hoping she would release an R&B uptempo track but if this song will be good, then Im fine with it. I just hope they will ask a lot of her fans for opinion on the song if its good enoug to become the lead off single.

Don't you sometimes ask your friends to "stay the night" because you're lonely or afraid and just want to talk to the wee hours? No, only if I want to bang them. :)

I guess I'd have to say my favorite Mariah is the non-whispering Mariah. I can't wait to hear this song. Am I the only one seeing references to the Butterfly era with both the song title (Stay The Night-My All (Stay A While) Remix) and the rumored album title (On The Other Side-Outside)?

If Mariah's going to flop, she's going to flop. Lord knows a Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis single isn't going to give her a big hit. ...and R. Kelly is not a guaranteed hit maker either.
