The first single from Mariah's upcoming album will apparently be "Stay The Night" featuring Kanye West. This news comes from Rob Wagman, Top 40/Mainstream director at All Access, the radio and record industry's leading information guide.

The single should surface at radio in early September and look for a commercial single, atleast in the UK, sometime in October.

Featuring Kanye West? Shocking! LMAO! Yea exactly. I had high hopes for this project but this 1st move doesn tlook too promising. Its not as if he has had much look with "divas" lately. This is a terrible idea in my opinion. And this isnt even an up tempo song. From what I read about the song its suppose to be mid tempo or something smoothe. I imagine it will be something likeJanets "my baby" featuring Kanye.

Oh my, I was hoping she would release an uptempo track. If that's the case, then I guess I wouldnt expect this album to put her back to a better status.
Might do slightly better than Charmbracelet. Anyways, cant really judge it unless I have heard it. When I heard Through The Rain, I knew instantly it would flop.

I think going the R&B/Urban way is probably the best for Mariah's career as it may be the only thing that can save her as going pure pop won't work, AC don't want her and she shouldn't go Hip-Hop. If this is mid-tempo R&B, it could give Mariah a minor hit at least.

This isn't going to take her anywhere... I'm sorry but the person above me's signature is funny. How could those songs be considered the songs of the summer when they aren't even nowhere near the top of the charts? The real songs of the summer: Jojo "Leave", Ashlee Simpson "Pieces Of Me", Juvenial "Slow Motion", Nina Sky "Move Ya Body", and Kevin Lyttle "Turn Me On"

I don't care if it does crap on the charts as long as Kanye hooks her up like he has everyone else, I'll be happy.

Not everything is about the stupid pop charts

Well then he should say "My songs of the summer"
Who said anything about the pop charts? These are what the general public would consider the songs of the summer, pop or not. I would've included "Goodies", "Southside", and "I Like that", but those songs are nowhere near their peaks yet.

You're like The Plastics, Lohanfan. I hope this Mariah-Kayne track is as much a jam as Brandy's "Talk About Our Love" (also called "Think About Our Love," as listed in RollingStone).

I couldn't think of a better person then Kayne West to try and get Mariah Carey back on Pop radio. Can't wait to hear this :)

I don't like Mariah singing about sex!!! Even though she is the sexiest woman in the world, I like how she keeps the bedroom games out of her music! 95% of her songs are clean and appropriate music for all ages. I hope she's singing to her love that she wants him to stay the night and help her clean up the house!

I don't like Mariah singing about sex!!! This title doesn't sound like it's going to be about sex. To me, it sounds like the song is going to be about Mariah asking someone to stay the night because she's lonely or scared. They don't necessarily have to have sex or even sleep in the same bed. Don't you sometimes ask your friends to "stay the night" because you're lonely or afraid and just want to talk to the wee hours?

LMAO @ all the hating before the song is even out. People just love to hate on Mariah.
...and honestly, I'm sick of the "Mariah should have done..." comments because Mariah has done it all and recently. The upbeat "Loverboy" did crap at radio. The slow "Through The Rain" did the same. "Through The Rain" proved that having no rapper and no sample was not the key to success. Mariah's best bet is to do what is hot at the moment. If her song did even as well as "Talk About Our Love" it would be a great accomplishment based on her last two albums. And what's wrong with Kanye West? He's extremely talented. Some of you are acting like it's a terrible choice. I'm sure if Scott Storch's song or R. Kelly's song was released first, people would be complaining too. I mean who is a hot producer at the moment? Lil Jon? Mariah would sound ridiculous on a Lil Jon track. And before the "Mariah needs to get back to pop songs" brigade comes marching in, go turn on "Bringin' On The Heartbreak".

Even if Mariah did a collabo with Usher i think it would flop. Why is she even releasing yet another new album? Does she have to release an album every 18 months?

Hopefully its nothing like "Talk About Our Love," besides having Kanye West attached to it, cause that's a terrible song.

I am interested in hearing this...but I really do hate Kanye West. Im sorry for his fans who love him...but he is not my cup of tea and I swear I have hated every song I have heard by him. But I am hoping that Mariah puts out a good song and the Kanye influence is minimal.

She's talented, she's got a huge fanbase, plus her last album didn't do bad at all. I don't listen to her, but I give her props for going back into the studio and putting her soul into her stuff, after the disastrous year she had in 2001.

All I'm saying is just wait for the song. It's not even out yet. If you're going to hate, atleast wait for the song to come out. It's pretty stupid to be calling the shots and saying "It will probably sound like... and flop." I honestly think Island is not going to let this album do as poorly as her last two albums. They've already put tremendous amounts of money into it (I wouldn't be surprised if this is her most expensive album to date) and are ready to promote the hell out of it.
