Regardless, this only supports what I'm saying more. If these test charts officially counted, I'm Your Angel would count as one of the biggest jumps to #1. And we know it doesn't count. Similarly, those other Canadian #1s don't count either.

It technically didn't debut at #1 either, the published chart of 12/5/98 lists the chart movemvemt of this song as 53-46-1 with weeks on = 5.

However, the next point I have is obvious:

If the first 11 Canada charts are unofficial, do not count or do not exist then why are the 'wks on chart' column of the initial chart not all equal to 1??

Just looked up a more recent example; the pop 100 and digital charts that were initiated in Feb 2005 all had test charts too. The 'wks on' columns were not reset to 1 when they were first published; meaning - at least in how they represent it on their charts -- The test charts count.

I'm Your Angel technically did debut @ #1. Test charts are exactly what they sound like - they are test charts, and they're unofficial. Whatever happened on those charts may be intresting, but officially they don't count.

On the official 11/28/98 chart, I'm Your Angel was not charting. On the 12/5/98 chart, I'm Your Angel charted for the first official time. Its position that week was #1. So, it was a #1 debut.

And I believe you know that whenever Billboard talks about the #1 debuts, I'm Your Angel is included. People have argued this point before, but their arguments were shot down on the same grounds.

Like I've said before, Billboard includes the previous weeks whenever they make new charts like The Pop 100. That does not mean that those are official stats though.

There is a reason why they keep stressing Umbrella is the first Canadian #1 ever on The Canadian Hot 100. If they planned to include those other songs, they would have said Umbrella was the fifth Canadian #1, and they didn't.

But didn't the 'Weeks On Chart' for the Hot 100 where "IYA" was first #1 show 5 weeks? If so, it wasn't #1 in its first week and thus wasn't a debut. I think it actually doesn't count as a 46-1 jump or a #1 debut.

The 'weeks on' column for radio-only tracks reflects the number of weeks that song has appeared on the new formula's test charts. Titles that are new to the published Hot 100 that were already appearing on the test charts will not show up as new entries..."

Same for Hootie & the Blowfish, Guns N' Roses and the Dixie Chicks, who had released independently distributed albums previous to the major label bow. Previous to his "Bat Out of Hell" success, Meat Loaf released a little known album through Motown as part of a duo, but we're discounting that album as well.
