Separate question -- has there ever been a list compiled of the longest reigns in the top 2? I think Uptown Funk actually would be the winner there right?

Separate question -- has there ever been a list compiled of the longest reigns in the top 2? I think Uptown Funk actually would be the winner there right? It IS the winner. It spent 18 weeks in the top 2 (14@no.1, 4@no.2).. The formerly held record was 16 weeks (3-way tie between One Sweet Day, I Gotta Feeling, We Belong Together) 15 weeks was pretty impressive as well: songs like I'll Make Love to You, I Will Always Love You, All About That Bass and... (Shoots! Not quite sure there's more or not..) you can check billboard.com and in my memory it was responded by billboard staff in an issue of "ask billboard") haha

Separate question -- has there ever been a list compiled of the longest reigns in the top 2? I think Uptown Funk actually would be the winner there right? The truth is, each era is weighed differently. If that's considered, then the record holder is Debbie Bonie's You Light Up My Life which spent 12*1.6=19.2 weeks in the top 2.. (Crazy enough, Foreigner's Waiting For A Girl Like You was stuck at no.2 for 10*1.6=16 weeks and The Twist's top 10 weeks would be 25*1.7=42.5 weeks!)

On the Billboard 200 - which added track equivalent album (TEA) sales and streaming info to the mix in December 2014 - the album entered at No. 2. ** Following his passing in June 2009, Michael Jackson's Number Ones reached No. 1 on Billboard's all-encompassing Comprehensive Albums chart (reportedly, the only instance a catalog title sold the most units of any album, whose sales were reported, in a given week since May 1991). How did the TV troupe earn the record? By releasing multiple singles alongside each new episode, and their strong weekly sales at the height of the show's popularity allowed the act to quickly surpass Presley's long-standing mark (108). Lil Wayne has also overtaken the King, running up 127 Hot 100 hits, although approximately two-thirds of his trips to the chart have been in featured roles. 207, Glee Cast 127, Lil Wayne 108, Elvis Presley 100, Drake 91, James Brown 83, Jay Z 75, Ray Charles 73, Chris Brown 73, Aretha Franklin 71, The Beatles The list of acts with the most Hot 100 hits was compiled from the chart's Aug. 4, 1958 inception through the chart dated Oct. 10, 2015.

Drake's recent mammoth achievements: Drake makes history on the Hot 100, as he places a record-breaking 20 titles on the new May 21 tally, the most that any act has charted on the ranking in one week. Drake passes the 17 songs that Justin Bieber boasted on the Dec. 5 Hot 100. That sum bested the 14 each that the Beatles logged on April 11, 1964, and that, guess who, Drake earned on the March 7 and Oct. 17 charts in 2015. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7358100/drake-hot-100-record-20-simultaneous-hits-one-danceAdditionally, with 16 debuts, Drake ups his count to 123 career Hot 100 entries, passing Elvis Presley, with 108, for the third-most in the chart's history, which dates to its launch on Aug. 4, 1958 -- notably, two years into Presley's iconic career. The cast of Fox's Glee leads with 207 appearances, followed by Lil Wayne, with 130. Also notably: the Glee cast showed as the lead act on all 207 of its Hot 100 entries and Presley was the lead on all 108 of his. In an era in which featured rappers are commonplace, Lil Wayne has been the lead act on 46 of his Hot 100 hits (35 percent) and Drake has been the lead on 78 of his (63 percent).

Think we need a lot of updates here. Mainly since Drake is now in the million in a week club He got 1 million with streaming included. The lists in here are for sales only Billboard chart combines the two. people need to learn to adapt, it's disturbing
