Dance was taboo back then too but there still managed to be a few dance hits that year. I'm thinking there's more of a chance to have a dance hit now than there was in the last few years because the charts have more diversity on them. However, Dirty Vegas had their time so it prolly won't be a big hit.

However, Dirty Vegas had their time so it prolly won't be a big hit. I couldn't disagree more here. The commercial side of dance music is on an all-time low, especially in the UK, where dance music is a big industry since, at least, the late 80s. People are not also turning more and more into Urban music, rock music is also back on track, taking most of the fashionista dance crowd away. Besides, this song sounds more like a pop/rock song than a dance song. Which is, in fact, an evolution similar to what acts like Faithless or Paul Van Dyk made, precisely because of rock music being back in fashion. That said, I think this is more of a Hot AC song than anything else. It reminds me a bit of what Duran Duran and Tears For Fears are doing right now.

I like this... it's kinda New Order-ish. I don't think it's going to be a hit for them though.

I really like the acoustic version of the song. Wasn't a fan of the original. (re: days go by)

DIRTY VEGAS Walk Into the Sun Producer(s): Dirty Vegas Writer(s): S. Smith, B. Harris, P. Harris Publisher(s): EMI Music Genre: POP Label/Catalog Number: Capitol C21Q-39986 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: October 16, 2004
Two years ago, British trio Dirty Vegas made quite a splash with its self-titled album that debuted at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 and in the pole position of the Top Electronic Albums chart. Its success was propelled by the dance/pop crossover hit "Days Go By," which was initially introduced to mainstream America in a Mitsubishi TV ad. Now, Dirty Vegasโsinger Steve Smith, guitarist Ben Harris and keyboardist Paul Harrisโreturns with "Walk Into the Sun," which surprises upon first listen. Less fueled by technology and house music than "Days Go By," "Walk Into the Sun," nonetheless, remains wonderfully dance-worthyโalbeit in a way that is poised to please fans of U2, Franz Ferdinand and the Killers. In fact, the track, at times, recalls U2's "New Year's Day." Yes, judging by this single, Dirty Vegas is taking an active role in the growing dance-rock scene. "Walk Into the Sun" precedes the Nov. 30 release of sophomore album "One." Hopefully, "One" is as potent as this one track.โMP

This song is sooo good! It sounds nothing like 'Days Go By', which makes me think these guys could have a good career ahead of them. It sounds like something U2 would released, and I can't compare to 'DGB' cuz there not in the same category. Should be a BIG hit on Hot AC, and it would be great if this awesome track breaks Top 50. Currently, it's at #75, up 6 with 142 spins. FINGERS CROSSED. ;)
