I'm assuming you took the five songs listed under Most Added and the five songs listed under New & Active on the R&R pop chart page, but does anyone have a complete list, since there are probably several songs that received more adds than the top five on the New & Active list...

I really wish "Locked Up," would gain some more adds. I really love the song. It is one of my favorite Rhythmic songs on radio at the moment. It's a popular song around here. I think it would be a great Mainstream hit. Thank you Z100 for playing it. The official adds date is next week, so hopefully more stations can pick up the track.
But its bullet went down quite a bit though. >:( I'm praying for at least a top 50.

Congrats to Christina for getting so many adds with two different songs! She's bound to go Top 10 somewheres!

I could see a lot of CHR/Pop stations being afraid of "Locked Up" and passing on it. It's not shake-your-ass and party R&B and rap (which I love). It actually makes you think a little bit. In this case, there is an evident difference between pop and urban/rhytmic formats. Unfortunately, listeners of urban stations would be more likely to relate to being in jail.
I haven't heard the JoJo remix with Bow Wow, but coming off a huge #1 hit the amount of adds isn't surprising. Was this her add date? What about Ashlee? "Pieces of Me" is now top five on the Hot 100. Will Geffen go ahead with pushing "Shadow" later this month?
Yay for Gavin DeGraw. I absolutely love that song and am glad it's getting another chance on pop.

I thought Confessions Part II would do poorly on Pop for similar reasons, and it probably would have if anyone other than Usher released it. This was JoJo's add date, but Ashlee's is next week.

I truly feel that "reality' must settle in at some time for some folks. The thing I admire about pop radio during the past couple of years that they have become more diverse in their music selections. I totally agree with you that the song is more fit for Urban radio. However, I believe the song is rather catchy and radio friendly enough for pop radio listeners. I think the track would provide a nice balance to the "booty" shaking R&B and rap represented on the pop chart. You are so right splitchick59, "Locked Up" does make you think. It clearly points out all the consequences of being incarcerated. An excerpt of the song is the following: "Can't wait to get out and move forward with my life, Got a family that loves me and wants me to do right But instead Im here locked up"As I realistically observe 'inner city' America, I think it is a great thing that many Urban listeners can relate to a song like this. This song is quite capable of shedding a light on many young and troubled "inner city" individuals who may have thought of committing a crime by allowing them to realize the repercussions of such behavior. The song truly illustrates the heartache, pain and confusion that goes with being locked up. I think it is quite a positive song that teaches such a valuable lesson to urban youths. That's why I love it so much.

And pop music listeners are more likely to be racists that unjustly put urban listeners in jail? In any case this is the most ignorant thing i've heard in a minute.

Straight out of the 1950s is where that came from. Unfortunately, listeners of urban stations would be more likely to relate to being in jail.
