77 spins this week according to Mediabase. Trying to make up for lack of success of the subsequent singles?

Wasn't it an extra last week on AT40? This same thing happened to Feel Good Time for a week over the summer, and that was an extra one week.

Yes, AT40 play caused the airplay spike.

I wonder if Pink will ever make a comeback.

I think she could come back but not on her own. Probably as a featured artist in someone else's song or as a duet.

Depends on the song. She's capable of making decent songs (Most Girls and Don't Let Me Get Me). Her most recent ones have been truly wretched tho.

I must be one of the only ones who thought that Try This was great. I liked all the singles, and I think some of the album tracks are among her best work (especially "Walk Away").

No, I can't ever see Pink making a comeback as a solo artist without any help. If she does have a solo hit again, it will be after she has a hit with someone else, if that happens.

I think Trouble was her career ending song, because I thought God is a DJ was phenomenal and deserved to go so much farther than it did. Too bad it was released after the career destroyer.

Yep, Trouble screwed stuff up.
I think, after a good break, she can come back...and the single has to be GREAT.
Oh, and someguy, I loved Try This too.

Trouble just sucked. I remember listening to it and thinking...this is it?! This is her new single?!

I overheard a conversation about Pink between 2 teenaged girls standing in line at the video store. One said "Pink is not sexy or even pretty. I like some of her songs but I wouldn't go to see her." The other girl replied "Yeah she made a couple of good songs but shes sooooo NOT sexy! She looks like a boy." Pink has an image problem if you put any stock in these 2 girls opinions.
Pinks popularity was ALL about the music. It was deep and compelling. It's not anymore and the only thing left to focus on is her image and these 2 girls summed up her image problem pretty well. Reconstruction is possible--anythings possible--but I'd bet heavily against it.

She would have been so much better off releasing "God is a DJ" first, which is what the original plan was. Last minute, "Trouble" was chosen instead, which to me is the worst song she's ever recorded. I do think it would have done better though if she hadn't been coming off of the flop that was "Feel Good Time."

I don't understand what is up with all the Pink hate? :o
No matter what you have to say abotu "Trouble", her three albums have been far and away some of the best pop material released in a long time.
Don't Let Me Get Me, Just Like A Pill, Most Girls, You Make Me Sick, Get The Party Started, God is a DJ, and so on...come on now people, give credit where credit is due!

The first album was pretty weak, the second album had some great singles, but some dull filler. The third album is the only one which I would say is a strong album.

Was there any singles on Try This besides Trouble and God is a DJ? God, if there were, they must have completely flopped, I didn't even know she released other singles!!

Trouble was a hit I think it was Top 20. Shocked me it didn't go Top 10 but if it had of went 7-8 spots higher I can't imagine liking it any more because it's every bit as catchy as her other hit if not better. It's all about timing and promotion and last about the hook anymore. Sorry, I've been into Radio for ever and for the last 4-5 years have been at Ultra Mix Internet Radio and have been very disapointed in the industry's promotion for good artists and single choices as well as the money they waste on prodjects that never pan out just because the boy or girl is good looking. I loved the 80's,90's, & Today's Hot AC stuff but sometimes I wish it was the 70's and we didn't know what these people looked like and we could just listen to the music and we didn't have access to computers & chart data so we wouldn't know it hit #9 or #17 as long as we were hearing it on our local hit station we'd just assume it was a HIT & Like It or not like it based on our own personal feeling. Dream on alice.............

so every song that ever peaked at #17 and under are not hits. Wow, sorry Tom Petty "You Got Lucky" still getting airplay on 80's stations and classic rock & hot ac stations after 20 years, your void. I wonder why Rick Dees & Casey Casem ever wasted there time counting down the 40 biggest hits on the pop chart if only 10 count. All these years have been wasted. Please don't come back with well compared to her others, well it didn't sell, well i didn't mean it like that. It was a hit. I'm in radio myself trust me it was a hit. WVSR played it 35+ for a couple months. My replies are in no way meant to stir anything up, I just have a passion for radio and hate to see people pick good songs to death. I hate to think Rob Thomas is somewhere worrying whether he goes Top 10 or just misses by a few spins just to hear people on this board saying, Oh, what's this Could Matchbox Twenty be over at POP, they spent 4 weeks at #11 but failed to crck Top 10, the song went #1 at Hot AC for 13 weeks and the cd wentr Platinum. I think there 6 minutes of fame are up, man if only Atlantic would've paid some monitored station to spin the song 100 times overnight they'd be OK.
I originally joined this board because I thought it was going to be Program Directors talking back and forth but I've come to learn it's anything but that!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked Trouble, and I could care less that people don't agree with me. The album Try This was pretty poor overall, though I thought. She said it was more punk, and it was certainly not that. I thought she went too soft on the album quite frankly.

Maybe if I relisten something will click Oh My God and Save My Life are 2 I'd recommend the most personally. However I think we disagree on alot of music (I'm not sure I've seen a single post of yours I agree with ) so you may still dislike them.

the cd had 2 hits, the 3rd one flopped "Catch Me While I'm Sleeping" I think it was called. God Is A DJ was ok, but "Trouble" I thought was very catchy and just released at a bad time!!! It was every bit the song "Don't Tell Me" by Avril was which I also like.

Maybe if I relisten something will click The one I'd suggest is "Walk Away" - if not that, then maybe "Humble Neighborhoods". "Save My Life" and "Last To Know" are good too. I think "Catch Me..." was scheduled to be the third single but was pulled after GIADJ missed the top 20.

I don't think they should release another single from that album.. Isn't she working on a film right now? About the life of Janis.. from what I have heard she is also recording some of Janis' songs for the soundtrack.. now THAT would be an awesome comeback don't you think? I think she could really deliver on some of Janis' songs.
