I was looking at this week's POP chart and I saw how close 'Over and Over' is to pass the 10,000 spins in a week mark. Two questions: 1. Can they do it, ever though their bullet is almost done.
2. Has anyone ever passed the 10,000 spin mark?DISCUSS. 1 1 NELLY Over And Over (f/Tim... 9561 9309 252 74.430

1. Can they do it, ever though their bullet is almost done. Not at their current rate. Off the top of my head, "Complicated" and "Lady Marmalade" did. LM holds the record for highest total. I think Nickelback (HYRM) and Pink (GTPS) might have, but I'm not sure. I can't think of any others.

"Lady Marmalade" did, but I don't think any others besides "Complicated" did.

I thought Complicated was the only other song to pass 10 000 spins. "Complicated" is the only song that's reached 10,000 spins since the panel size shrunk from about 180 to 125 the week of August 10, 2001. However, numerous songs passed the 10,000 spin mark prior to that. "Lady Marmalade" peaked at 12,175 spins, if I remember correctly.

I voted for no, by the way. I think it will peak between 9,800 and 9,900 spins.

79.675 spins per station. I'm sure not even those that passed 12,000 achieved that.

Just under 9,300 spins despite not being on FOURTEEN of R&Rs 120 reporters---wow!!!
That's over NINETY spins per week per station--nobody's done that recently.
Nelly will also be on Tim's TV special this Wednesday; that should provide another airplay boost as well.

Where are you getting those figures?
It has 9,600 spins on CHR/Pop right now.

Well, guess what?Β They did it.Β On the current update (1:05 EST November 22, 2004) they're at 10,008 spins.Β Whether they'll hold that total until the next final update remains to be seen, but at least they've made it on one of the updates.
That said, you might want to lock the poll, unless you meant that it had to be 10,000 spins on a Sunday night update.

I assume the original poster meant CHR/Pop, so that's what we should stick to. He's around 9,600 spins right now.
