That's right! MB is back. Now I know some of you may be potentially rolling your eyes, and that's fine! I'm making this topic for the new people, just to get opinions and such.
First, some history:
MB is pretty much me and my music. I've been making music since 2000 and been writing songs for a long time. I've never been a "serious" songwriter or "musician" (I do use the word lightly). I just do it for fun pretty much and I like to see the after result. It's fun to make songs and then to hear how they end up on their own and in groups of albums.
In 2001, I "released" a song to the R&R Boards (LOL! Sounds funny but it was to a chart PeopleBase, some of you might remember or have heard of it) called 'This Life'. A song I wrote in late 2000. That one hit #2 on PBC. Then I released 'Everybody's Here' which featured a rap from Rob64 (also a board member), which hit #1! :O
Then Rob released songs as well... he had been making music before that as well.
Those two songs came from my first collective group of songs which I titled 'Miscellaneous'.
In 2002 I released the first single from my album 'Anonymous' called 'Feeling Love', which I thought was a HUGE step for my both lyrically and musically. Lyrically, it was about having a crush on someone and wanting to be with them but knowing it won't happen. Musically, it was the first song I made using my keyboard (as opposed to a midi-music making computer program) so it had a more "real" sound.
The second single 'All I Need' was another big step for me. Again, it's a song about wanting love but it's all about imagining it and the specifics of the relationship and I just think the entire song is pretty impressive for me when I wrote it when I was 16. That was also a #1 song! (but at this time payola was playing a huge part. LOL)
The third single was 'This Is The Night', which is another song that impresses me that I made. It was originally done completely with just piano and my singing (;) ) but I added a beat to it for the "remix".
The fourth single was 'It's All Good', which I completely redone in December of 2002 and I think it sounds much better. It kinda samples 'mr vain' by culture beat too.
Then in late 2004 I recorded a completely different new song and new style for me called 'inside;outside', which I think had an impressive result for me as well. I'm still proud of that one.
In conclusion, the songs aren't high quality productions but with what I know on how to produce stuff and with the stuff I have ($4 mic, not the greatest keyboard and limited producing abilities and REALLy not good singing and I CAN'T play an instrument because I don't have coordination for the piano), the songs came out fairly good, imo!
Now I'm back with another new song called 'Evolve' which is from my third album ( ;) ) 'One Way Undone', which is a complete themed album and my first in over three years!!
Anyway, the website is
www.geocities.com/mystars30/mb/news.html if you want to check out the new song (as well as links to some of the aforementioned older songs!!!)
Tell me your thoughts!!
