Yay sounds like it's going to be a very fun project and another great album! Really excited to hear the Chris Martin duet.

It sounds like this will be interesting, yet at the same time it sounds like something I may not like, oh well, everyone changes.

"Promiscuous Girl" already sounds like a piece of crap Gwen Stefani wannabe. I hope they change their mind.

Judging from all of the information from this thread I could see her coming back with a sound that sounds like "Rich Girl." I hope she doesn't go too rhythmic-sounding though.

As much as I want Nelly to have a hit and have radio-friendly, catchy singles, I hope she also keeps some of her eclectiveness on the new album. The main reasons I loved Folklore so much is that it used a lot of world sounds. I hope that's still there on the new album, but just mixed in more with regular Pop and Hip-Hop.

I just don't like how she says she's writing songs about embracing her inner slut. That just seems like some desperate attempt for success and she's sacrificing quality to do it.... and I don't think it will even pay off. Tacky.

That strategy got Jewel one hit, at the expense of losing her core audience and becoming novelty.

But she's singing about being a slut, so it will probably be a word that rhymes with "shit" but starts with a cl.

I'm still in shock that "Try" flopped so bad! I hope thats still room for this "Folklore" type of songs, I really hope.

But she's singing about being a slut, so it will probably be a word that rhymes with "s**t" but starts with a cl. lmao. i can imagine someone singing that. As for the "Promiscuous Girl" song, I think it could be good as long it doesn't try to make her sound like too much of a slut. It is kind of weird since she has a kid now.

I always thought she was very attractive and she looks even better in person. I literally stood within a couple feet of her and she's a really good looking girl.

Does anyone have the radio edit of "Try" with the added vocals at the end?

Damn, OC, I am jealous. I saw her in concert when I was studying abroad in Paris and I was in the front tho. She is extremely hot and I have always been a fan of her music. I think her best songs are "Baby Girl", "Well, Well", "Legend", "Party", "I'm Gonna Make You Cry" from the first album and from the second, "Childhood Dreams", "Picture Perfect", "Forca", "Powerless" and "Fresh Off The Boat." I can't wait for her new CD. And it would be nice to see her tour behind it because she is amazing live.

Off topic, and sorry if this is a stupid question.... but in the "Try" video Nelly keeps tying pieces of fabric under the springboard of her bed. What's that supposed to mean?

I wonder how Nelly Furtado's CD will fare. How well did her sophomore effort fare? I didn't hear much noise from that effort, but I think there's still a place for Nelly in the industry.

I think it was a flop in America but did slightly better worldwide. Im confused as to the direction of this project. Some quotes say it will be fun with some clubbangers and sexuality. And then in others she said this is her baby/mother album with lots of tender songs about being a mom and that bond and the blessing of life. I wonder if she made a lot of songs and it fell down to some being about both subjects and they had to choose one or the other...or some combination. To tell you the truth, I would rather hear the fun stuff more than the "Im a mommy!" stuff

If not liking sappy mommy songs (or similar subjects) makes me selfish, then so be it I would rather have fun with Nelly rather than hear 14 songs of her singing tender love ballads to her baby.
