The nu lamb. lmao can you imagine if Mariah decides to re-release "Can't Take That Away" as a lead single for her next album? hahaha Please don't give her ideas. lmao. I would die. Literally. "There's a light in me that shines brightly. You can try but you can't take that away from me." Is it still her "theme"? Through The Rain...anyone?

I don't think anyone in the future can sell 1 million in one week, unless the album is super huge and is released on Christmas (like Mary J Blidge did last year). By the time Mariah releases her next effort, album sales will have dropped even more. In 2005 they decreased with 8%, in 2006 - with 5% so far. I think the drop will be 4-5% in 2007. Mariah has never been a huge first week seller. TEOM's 400k+ was her best to date, so if the lead single and the promo are big she may be able to move 600-700k.

You need to remember, out of the 5.7 Million that was bought, 2.5 was most likey re-bought again...theres now way im buying that 5.7 million diffrent people bought the album...so, in that...she will most def sell around 550k to 600k first week, hit lead single or not...i think the lead single will have the best shot at # 1 this time around...but i think the days of muti # 1 singles for Mariah might be over...what she did with the last album was very rare, and over kill is a problem now with her on most of radio.....fact is....if you think about it....Mariah could have had 3 or 4 # 1 singles from the last album....those albums come around once in a very long while.

Norah, Usher, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, perhaps Britney etc. are most likely to hit those numbers but like you said, Mariah isn't a huge first week seller.

Exactly, she is gorgeous. Go ahead Mariah work it out. Plus 36 37 is still fairly young in the real world. you dont always have to be a teenager or in your 20s to be young. And as a matter of fact 30s is still quite young hell even 40 if you take care of yourself. Appearance is what you make of it. Keep it up Mimi nice sexy beautiful covered and toned. Great and hot body. Also, Im very happy for Mariah TEOM has now sold 11.1 ww according to soundscan which is very credivle. So great job for Mimi. What more can I say simply unbelievable. What? link please! cause i don't buy it, thank you ;) i double that.....i want the link too....she was just at 9 or 10 million WW in August...since then...the album has not even been on media traffics Top 40 or Billboard's 200...were did the extra 2 million come from??..TeamMariahLambGiveMeMoreAlbumSales.com???

LMAO Britney and 50 Cent selling a million in their first week? It's almost 2007, not 2000 or 2004-5. Even Jay Z won't sell 1 million. He's expected to move 700k max next week.

Pushing 1 million in today's market is not impossible. There is more than enough people in the market to support that. The problem comes in sustatining those sales over the following weeks and months.

Where did you come up with 2.5 million? That is nearly half the sales of the album. Glitter only sold 600k, so if 2.5 million fans would buy 2 copies of TEOM, why wouldn't Glitter have sold more in an era where CD sales were higher?

Man, you know nothing at all. First of all, I don't have any of the versions of TEOM. In the country where I live you can still download everything without having to pay for it. Everything is free - from music, movies, games to downloading the latest episode of Lost or Desperate Housewives. About TEOM - basically you're saying that if the album hadn't been re-released it would have sold 0 copies. Didn't you notice that the sales of the original version started going down when it was announced the album would be re-released? DFAU was hit for months and people couldn't get it on the original album - that's why her sales decreased. Even if there was not a re-release there still would've been AMA's, Billiboard Awards, Thanksgiving, a whole holiday season and Grammys ahead of her. She still would have sold a lot. And saying that 2.5 mln spent money for the same album twice is basically saying that the American people are extremely dull nation. This issue have been discussed countless times and I think most of us agreed that the re-release brought 500k additional sales, but 2.5 mln......lmao! Like another user said, where were those 2.5 mln die-hard fans during the Glitter and CB era?

I love Jennifer Lopez and all but she's brought 90% of the shit she gets on herself. I don't know if MiMi really said this but it's fucking hillarious. JLO GOT SERVED!
And after hearing J.Lo gets eight hours sleep a night, Mariah scathed, "If I had the luxury of not actually having to sing my own songs, I'd do that, too."

I didnt know which Mariah thread to put this in...this thread should be called Mariah Discussion for a while till we have a better idea of when the album is coming out...then change it over to new album..just my idea...lol..but anyway...my favorite Mariah Christmas song AIWFCIY...is now # 32 on itunes!...should be in the top 10 in about another week or so.
