Mariah's voice isnt what it used to be in the 90s, and maybe she lips more often now, but its not like it started with the TEOM era.
The TEOM cover was supposed to be surreal. It wasnt supposed to look real.
She didnt do those endorsements for just money, but because in the past, she hadnt been allowed to (I thnk you would know about her troubles with Tommy).
Im not quite sure I really understand what your problem is with Mariah now. You seem to be talking about some scattered probelms you have, but Im not seeing a focused point.

Im not quite sure I really understand what your problem is with Mariah now. You seem to be talking about some scattered probelms you have, but Im not seeing a focused point. I understand her voice isn't what it used to be, and your right, she has lipped for years, its nothing new. Except now she tries to hide it so well, it's this huge technical show, not just raw talent anymore. Yes my problems are scattered, I realize I have more problems with Mariah as the days go by. Her back catalog keeps me a fan though. Its not like I'm arguing for Mariah to go back to singing a certain way, or dress a certain way.l I enjoy her personality too, which is another aspect of my fan ship. I know the Emancipation of Mimi cover is suppose to be surreal. But people don't look like that, and Mariah certainly doesn't, and it's one thing to do makeup and hair, and look hot, and maybe take off an inch or two... but never ever ever in any era, and I've been present for every era since 1993, have I seen her face more airbrushed, and deformed because of technology. Nobody will know the true reasons she did the endorsements, but her signing deals with big corporate companies, directly affected her fans, maybe not you, but certainly a few I know. I think she even canceled a show in Japan or something, and everyone was enraged. I don't remember. I only call it as I see it, and my more important direction was, she is not what she use to be, she is not as genuine as before, and it's no longer about the lambs, it's about being the biggest female artist ever, and staging her legacy as a great singer. Before when it was non-stop Mariah goodness, up till 1999 ( I thought Glitter was better than Charmbracelet tho) Mariah was huge, as she is now... but it wasn't about that, she wasn't trying to win back the public... she was experimenting with her sound. And most of Mimi has this unrealistic super-sonic pro tooled voice. Granted Mariah has talent, and can hit notes on a bad day better then most artists... but its not from the heart anymore, and I can tell. And I might be talking entirely random, but Im sharing my feelings on an artist that Ive deeply loved for so many years, and it boggles my mind I can finally see through it. I was hoping to be in la-la land forever =P

She brought in Kanye West, THE NEPTUNES!, Swizz Beatz, Scram Jones and others! She went and experimented with a more Urban based album and she hit it out of the ballpark with it. And you seem to be one of few people that hear pro-tooled vocals. She just may lip every now and than but pro-tooled vocals naw! We Belong Together was a one take song and we see where that got her.

Genuine www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVCColpUcIoWTF? www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-UAMPGfu1UYour a prime reason that this album was successful, because she managed to fool you. And I just told you yes my post was random, it needs no direction, thank you =P Im just expressing my feelings, I'm sure there's at least one lamb who can relate with me. Not to mention, we love you MTV? I'm just so sick of all this hypocrisy. It's just unbelievable how easily persuaded everyone is.

It might of been experimental on Mariah's terms to work with those people. But it was the same thing everyone else is doing, thats not creative, she was trying to make sure this album was a hit, otherwise her career would a been a mess.

Her saying WE LOVE YOU MTV is an example of selling out. HAHA! What the hell you expect her to say BET I LOVE YOU! And how was it something everybody else was doing?! Just because she wanted to bring some other people in doesnt mean anything because she still kept the regulars.

I'm done discussing this with you I'm going to go lay down and listen to Subtle Invitation on repeat And I never said that her saying we love you MTV represented any type of selling out, you must be up late. Its just retarded that she would say we love you MTV after how badly they treated her, and a majority of the media treated her after Glitter... Ida gone underground and kept it real. Comeback? Comeback to what? Come back to being a image-money driven artist... sure she certainly did come back =P K Im done I'm so over this. Another artist that hasn't sold out for you =P www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBYDT8WgeD4

christophereugene, one thing you dont seem to understand is that when you're a huge star you are also marketing yourself. you are your own brand! she's doing everything she's needed to do to get where she is. once you reach a certain level of celebrity, you have decisions to make on not how to get everyones attention, but how to keep it. she did everything right in the Mimi era. i just pray lightening can strike twice.

mariah's o holy night is the most downloaded version of that song on itunes currently. that's pretty cool.
ya know what i never understood, her 2nd most popular x-mas song (after All I Want, of course) seems to be Christmas (baby please come home). i like the song, but i just never would've guessed.

Hmm and about the protools thing, it is the standard in studios these days and mostly everybody uses it whether they credit an engineer in the booklet or not. Nothing wrong with protools...i could see if she was using auto tune all the time but no

Actually, while I am sure protools helped on some on Mimi, but have you listened to some of her belting on TEOM some of it is pitchy ala Mine Again, parts of Stay the Night, and Your Girl. If she really did want to clean up and hide her vocal issues, I am quite sure you would have heard some of the songs come off cleaner than they did. Actually, I find she actually seemed to have more authenticity and connection or "soul" with her ballads more so than she has ever had minus a few songs up until this point.

WOW I dont remember calling you names? Or attacking you... please be nicer, thanks! After thinking about it a little more I realize I am just bitter, I wanted so badly to experience the emancipation live, and I feel betrayed, and if I'm bitter for awhile, then so be it. I realize Mariah's talent, and I have pointed out her flaws. There's no reason to be an ass about it. I think this really has to do with me not enjoying POPULAR music quite as much as I used to. There is no need for all these angry, caps, attack mode, tweaker like replies to my post. . Lol =P Crack is whack!

It's nice to see how obsessed you are with Mariah. The jealousy never ends.lol That's why you have nothing better else to do than talk about her in other threads. That's what punks do! She's constantly on your mind. Now ask yourself, why is that?
