Nickelback is currently in the early stages of thier next album, due out late this year or early next year. Personally, I hope that they release the first single in August or September, even if "Rockstar" is still climbing the charts. They should release another "Fall" single (like "Photograph" and "Far Away"). Those are both beautiful songs that did well in the fall. Then the ballads will be hot in the spring/summer. Anyone else EXCITED about this?? (...you're all dreading it)

I guess I should change my mind. They should maybe save the "Fall" single for 2008 and release a harder single in late 2007.

I think a single next year is better. They should give people some break time, let Rockstar die first before releasing the new single.

I wonder how many songs they'll recycle this time around. Did anyone ever hear that clip where they layered 3 of their songs over each other and they were virtually the same lol?

"Someday" was sped up; "How You Remind Me" was not. I tried doing the same with "How You Remind Me" and "Savin' Me", but it didn't work out very well. As for the album, it really should wait until 2008; or heck, even 2009 at this rate.

(...you're all dreading it) You got that right! I guess it isn't AS bad in the States, but here in Canada they've been constantly shoved down our throats since what seems like forever (thanks, CanCon). The later they release the album, the better...

Hahah, you should be proud that your country produced such an amazing band!! The more Nickelback, the better. And do most Canadians NOT like the CanCon rules? Lol..

Wow, I hope they will release the next album just a couple of months after Rockstar will exit the charts, but to be honest the best period to release the new album is around december2007-january2008, I can't wait to see what great songs will be released from this band, now about the album's performance, I hope it will have a great opening week, I hope for over 400k or even more, and imagine to have the same longivity with ATRR. It will be awesome!!!

They're performing here on July 1st with Default, Staind, Daughtry, Finger Eleven and some other bands. I have no interest in seeing them personally but I do like some of their songs, just not enough to buy their CDs or see them in concert. I'm indifferent to them putting out a new album but I think, the best way for them, is that they should wait until next Spring to release it. That way it'll be a short break but not too long that people will forget or move on.
I like the CanCon rules personally but I think they should be applied better than they are.

I like the CanCon rules personally but I think they should be applied better than they are. Wow! That would be an awesome concert! They're coming here on July 19th with Staind and Daughtry. The radio stations are making a big deal about it! But it just doesn't compare to the buzz the D.C. area stations made back in summer 2004 when Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, and Puddle of Mud played together. (same pavillion)

I'm actually ready for this. Maybe it's too soon radio wise, but that's radio's fault. The last album was one of my favorites in 2005. It's been almost 2 years, it's time for something new.

I wouldn't mind a new album either. I just hope it's more like their older material.

If they plan to release an album within the next 12 months, why oh why did they release Rockstar. Really, give us non-fans a break on our local radio stations. Hopefully, the backlash is just around the corner radiowise at least. I'm sure the new album will sell a gazillion copies.
