This was in an Australian newspaper interview with Rob regarding the Tom Cruise rumor:
Q. How did you hear the rumour?
ROB - I picked it up on our website. My thought was, if you don't go on our website you'll never hear it, who cares? Then my manager called Paul, our drummer from Matchbox twenty, and paul was like, "Oh I heard about it weeks ago!"Then I did an interview with Australia, and they asked about it, and a friend was in Yugoslavia and heard about it over there, so I was like, OK, this is a bona fide rumour now

Rob just finished a promotional tour in Australia. STB rises 8 spots to #3 and LNM moves back up to #11 on the singles chart after 18 weeks on the chart. :)

Any word on when he is going to announce his area tour for the fall? Is it still in the works? I sure hope so. I'd love to see him again.

i just received a survey from Ratethemusic.com that was testing Streetcorner Symphony. I wonder if this is up for consideration for the next single. I like it better than Ever the Same, in fact, I ususally skip ETS and When the Heartache Ends. Guess I like the poppier songs on Rob's album. I enjoy the ballads, but when I have limited time to listen, I prefer the more pop/rock songs on the album. The only thing is that SS sounds more like a Spring/Summer song to me and now that TIHAHB is taking off, the next single wouldn't be released until Fall/Winter.

Oh yeah, Streetcorner Symphony is excellent. I think SCS is fairly more radio friendly the ETS in terms of chr/pop, but I think SCS would easily be a hit as would ETS on HAC. I say go for SCS first so if chr/pop skips ETS then there won't be a long break between singles.

Rob On The Radio
Rob's appeal to Hot AC and AC, the two best formats for Gold play, definitely shows in the massive spins he has.

I'm glad Ever The Same is getting airplay. My 2nd favorite track on the album. :)

I read on her message board that Anna Nalick commented at a show that she would be back in the Fall with Rob Thomas. I like her song Breathe, but don't know anything else by her. Wish we'd hear some official tour news.

Man, I want some tour news too. I'm dying to see Rob in concert. I like this rumor much better than the previous rumor of Rob opening for U2. Not that I don't like U2, but they've already come and gone in my city, and tickets are so expensive and good tickets are hard to come by. Plus I want to hear Rob for longer than an opening act set.
I assume Anna Nalick would be the opener for Rob. Or would they be co-headlining? I think Anna shows good promise, though I'd like to hear her do some more uptempo stuff. Breathe is actually one of my least favorite songs on her album, maybe because it reminds me too much of Faith Hill's (?) song Just Breathe. (Not that I have anything against Faith Hill. I just don't like that Breathe reminds me so much of another song.)

I think "Breathe" is really boring and I'm not liking it at all. Although if he saying she's going out on tour with Rob is true then GREAT because that means there is a tour in the works. I just can't wait for dates

I've always wondered how much airplay (AC and HotAC) that Rob/MB20 got for some of their older songs. I wish we would get some tour information soon, too. I need to make some plans for this fall and I'm kind of waiting on these dates before I do.

Hell, Anna Nalick? God, please, no. I absolutely abhor Breathe. Cannot stand that song. Please, let this rumor be false.

Rob Thomas and Tyler, his terrier mutt. Awww, you mean Tyler and his servant, Rob Thomas? I saw Tyler at the Columbus concert in April. He had this cone thing around his neck because he had stitches in his stomach from a wolf who attacked him. I heard that the wolf was a domesticated pet of Rob's manager on a ranch in California. Well Tyler did something the wolf didn't like and ouch! But Tyler was soooo cute walking around the parking lot of the venue with his walker guy. He acted like he owned the place and seemed exceptionally frisky and friendly. He was so cute! This was posted on the Rob Thomas board today: Rob Thomas's Hero PupWednesday Aug 03, 2005 6:00am EST Singer Rob Thomas and wife Marisol have had a tough couple of years. The Grammy-winning singer and his model spouse have been battling Marisol's lupus-like autoimmune disorder, but they've gotten through their "dark days" with the help of Tyler, an abused 5-year-old terrier mutt that they adopted last year. The animal lovers picked up their brown-and-white dog from Pets Alive, a no-kill shelter on a 77-acre ranch in upstate New York. "At the time we didn't have any animals because we traveled so much," says Thomas, who reports that Marisol's health is on the upswing. "Tyler has been a godsend. My wife hasn't been well in the last couple of years and he's been a savior. He just got her through that whole process." To show their gratitude, the couple are appearing in an upcoming Discovery Channel Animal Planet special about Pets Alive. And as for Tyler, he's now leading the jet-setting life. "If we are going overseas, we usually leave a few days early and fly him to Florida where Marisol's parents live, and pick him up on the way back," says Thomas. After returning from a recent Australian promotional tour for Thomas's platinum-selling solo album Something to Be, they decided Tyler deserved extra-special treatment. "We chartered a plane just for him, so we wouldn't have to go through the heartache of putting him under the plane in this heat." Now that's a lucky pup.

Rob Thomas is featured this month on "Stripped" where he sings several of his songs stripped down. He also does a cover of Madonna's "Borderline". Check it out here: www.strippedmusic.com/

I got tix today for Cleveland and Pittsburgh through the VH1 presale. Gonna do a road trip to Pitts in October. Should be fun. I waited too long to get the tix to Cleveland and all the good ones were gone. :( It's going to be a bummer being soooo far away when we had been within 20 feet at his April show in Columbus. But at least we have a seat. Those GA shows are killers! Here's the link for tix, if you want to get in on the presale: www.vh1.com/artists/az/thomas_rob/tours.jhtml
