I don't have to say, "sticky, please", right? Good.
Gavin Degraw should join the top five, Seether still has a chance at the top ten, Avril should go top twenty, and debuts should include Maroon5 and Kelly Clarkson.

Houston is...and someone else. I can't remember whom. Maybe Terror Squad?

Is anything going recurrent this week? Houston and Lil' Flip, as well as Black Eyed Peas if they fall below #20. (The rest of the veterans in the top 20 aren't likely to drop out.)

whoa! lindsay lohan +49? i really thought this song had a chance at top 10. it's like a messy version of britney song and the public needs a new britney sooner or later.

I can't believe it's still going at all. I thought it was a horrible Britney re-hash. I thought it was done when it was in the high 30's.

I agree I thought it was dead in the 30's, but somehow Lindsay's bullet got a bit higher. I think this whole album she's releasing won't do very well for her standards. I think she has sort of begun to pull away from Disney and split her fan base into two. Both Disney and a little more mature teen audience.

Over and Over has passed 10000 spins on the Mainstream Hit Panel.

No one should have to be subject to anything close to a new britney, or a new anyone else for that matter. Its like looking for the "new Nirvana", its not going to happen.

I really think that Nelly will hold #1 for a really long time because his biggest competition is Gavin Degraw who is over 4000 spins behind. Snoop should also get near top 10 by the end of the week. Both Trick Daddy and Simple Plan have slowed down and both songs may miss top 10, however depending on how fast Ciara drops Seether might make top 10. I still can't believe Eminem is still at #5 and OMG at Jesse Mccartney, I mean how could this song be getting spins.

Yay at Lindsay Lohan. I'm so glad that sad excuse for a song (and an artist) is dying down a bit. I still can't believe that trash actually charted.

As of today, Seether has made the top 10. They first hit #11 (up from 16) on the 10/15 chart, so if they make it this week, it will have taken them 7 weeks to climb from #11 to #10. Ciara has already fallen behind them, so all they'll have to do is stay ahead of Trick Daddy and Simple Plan (or get ahead of Maroon 5) by Sunday.

You know what is kind of funny about Over & Over...
IF this song were not to be a strong recurrent, the fact that it came out so late in the year will mean that it could possibly be in the bottom 50 of the 2004 & 2005 year-end pop charts, meaning that from historical perspectives of year-end charts, it would not look like it was that great of a hit.
Just a thought...

Just a thought... That's exactly the reason why I'm not a fan of R&R's year-end charts. I think a song's entire run should be counted in one year. That's the way they do it with movies: if you look up the Top Movie of, for example, 1997, it will say Titanic with just over 600 million, even though it earned over 80% of that total in 1998.

Things like that I just can't agree with. If they're going to do that, they should put it in the year that it earned most of its money in. As it is, the only reason it's listed in 1997 is because it was in theaters in mid-December. (How technical-minded can you get? ) Things like that are one reason I prefer the method they use now. I don't have a problem with using different methods for figuring year-end statistics, but blatant inaccuracies like the Titanic example I just can't agree with. Unfortunately, I find that they are what make the difference when it really counts more often than not. What about songs that last more than one year's worth of weeks? I know that's not possible at Pop, but there are places - in particular AC - where not only is it possible, but it has happened on numerous occasions.

Imagine if Eminem's lead single had been better received (or it was a different lead single altogether). We'd likely have two songs with 9000+ spins right now.

I don't like the looks of this: 37 51 VANESSA CARLTON White Houses 732 1426 -694 34 52 GOOD CHARLOTTE Predictable 683 1596 -913 48 53 MASE Breathe, Stretch, Sh... 680 780 -100 52 54 NITTY Nasty Girl 468 662 -194 55 55 NELLY My Place (f/Jaheim) 448 539 -91 57 56 NELLY/CHRISTINA AGUILERA Tilt Ya Head Back 429 460 -31 62 57 COUNTING CROWS Accidentally In Love 311 331 -20 56 58 ASHLEE SIMPSON Shadow 306 506 -200 #59 Ludacris has only 300 spins and a bullet of +134. Even if it is only Tuesday, it's looking like Good Charlotte will be the only debut this week, and they're already in the Top 50. If Ludacris does make it on, his spin total will be very low. LL Cool J and Rupee have lost their bullets. Rupee is likely to stay on the chart anyway due to the above situation.

I can't believe that Lets get it started is still on the chart. It might not even fall below 20 for another week or 2. Avril also picked up and is back at +572 so I think this will go top 10.

How exactly does a song go to that chart from recurrents? It just...happens. It all depends on when Mediabase decides to list a given song as Gold. There's not much else to it. One thing I want to point out is there was a time when "Too Bad" was listed as Gold but not "How You Remind Me".

I also noticed that "I'm With You" is a Gold but "Beautiful" isn't.
