Wow!!! The bullets are huge again! Ciara is at +601 and Mario is at +445. Snoop also has a bullet +122. It looks like Soldier will make top 5 now since its bullet is back at +337. The biggest bullets of the year are going to be on Sunday night, after the rolling chart stops counting the weekend of 12/31-1/2. The vast majority of songs will be bulleted at that point.

On the h1M chart, Gavin just over 100 spins from the top spot! :o Could he hit #1 on that chart and not on the h1r chart? That would be interesting...
And Soldier better watch out - it is being threatened of being knocked out of the top 10 by Kelly Clarkson, who is rapidly catching up to that song.

There's actually not a huge difference between h1m and h1r when comparing #1 and #2 right now.
On h1m, Gavin is 127 away. On h1r, Gavin is 150 away. I think h1r just got a lot closer, as I recall the difference being almost 200 when I checked earlier. So... hmm... the difference was around 270 yesterday IIRC, now it's been almost cut in half. It's again looking like he does have a shot at both right now, considering that tomorrow is going to be a very active day.

One thing that could potentially block Gavin from #1 is AT40. Over & Over gets played twice because it was #1 on the countdown last week. With the gap between I Don't Wanna Be and Over & Over being as small as it is, that could make a big difference.

Good point, KikiMets. It's going to be quite the race. Seems like we've had a lot of these last minute races lately. Avril vs. Maroon 5, Kelly vs. Maroon 5, now Gavin vs. Nelly. Go Nelly!

If Nelly gets #1 on BB's Mainstream top 40 it would be its 11th week at #1 :o What was the last song to spend 11 weeks at #1 on BB's Mainstream chart?

Go Nelly! actually, it was more of like kelly VS marron 5 VS nelly. kelly won that 'week' with less than 100 spins, i think.

Sadly now, it seems Lala has fooled us all. Although I think she gained a boost just from the horrible BCS performance. On the local station, they play the "you make me wanna scream" from the BCS performance and then play the song..
Mona Lisa #97
"Numb/Encore" could take #14.
I hope Gavin doesn't get it. I hope either Nelly holds it (sadly) or Mario takes it. Either way, I hope Mario and then Ciara take it.

Gavin is back with a small bullet! He is now 109 spins back from Nelly. IF Nelly could lose a little more in the next day, then Gavin might sneak into #1! If not, another fantastic pop song gets the shaft! >:(

Everyone here is saying that this week is the only chance for "I Don't Want To Be" to hit # 1. But I'm going on the record predicting that regardless of wheter it hits # 1 this week, it will hit there next week. I think this song will show some impressive longevity.
It kind of reminds me of October 2003 when "Here Without You" and "Baby Boy" were battling for # 1. It looked like "Baby Boy" was going to pass "Here Without You" and block it from hitting # 1, but 3 Doors Down ended up getting not one, but two weeks at # 1 before Beyonce took over. I think the same kind of thing will happen here (although I'm not convinced Mario will even get to # 1).

I'd rather Gavin be number one than Mario, two is good enough for that song

Looks like Gavin will be no1.
The bullets went up so much on this update. Will this happen on every update for the next couple of days?
Jennifer can be no35 by the final update today.

Looks like Gavin will be no1. The bullets went up so much on this update. Will this happen on every update for the next couple of days? Most likely not, because the December 31 and January 1 airplay is now gone, which is where most of the currents lot spins (due to year-end countdowns.)

Most likely not, because the December 31 and January 1 airplay is now gone, which is where most of the currents lot spins (due to year-end countdowns.) Well, since it was a full holiday weeekend, I know a lot of stations repeated their countdowns on the 2nd. I think we have one more day of hugely increasing bullets, then things will get more stable.

Gavin is only 9 spins away from Nelly at the 11.32 update. Looks like he just might get #1.

And the battle is on! Will Gavin be an Avril (and get aced out of the top spot at the last minute) or will he be a song written by Avril (and clinch the top spot at the last minute). Stay tuned!

GAVIN AND NELLY TIED FOR #1 in spins but "I Dont Want To Be" gets it because it has the bigger bullet!!
WOOOO HOO!
How many weeks did Over & Over spend at #1? 9? or 10?
That's a damn long run...
and it only peaked at #3 on the Hot 100...haha
So is this the first tie in almost 3 years? Ashanti and Vanessa Carlton?

This is the most deserving #1 in quite some time.
