Final update... Gavin DeGraw and Nelly tie for number one! DeGraw gets it in the tiebreaker. Seether will go recurrent.

way to go gavin! cant get more closer than that huh? great to see that chart is gaining some semblance of normallity back. 6 songs with a 900+ bullet. so when is the final update? becoz mario is only 350 spins behind, with a bullet of over 1000, so hes gonna be #1 very soon. plus hes got a bigger bullet than ciara so he should hopefully hold her off for a while.
but anyway, go gavin!!!!! seems so long ago that i heard this song for the first time, probably july/august sometime. i reckon OAO is gonna drop like a brick now.

GAVIN AND NELLY TIED FOR #1 in spins but "I Dont Want To Be" gets it because it has the bigger bullet!! Awesome! I knew it was going to be close. I think I was the first one to hypothesize that Gavin could take it. I haven't been this excited about a #1 in a long time. Ironically, "I Don't Want To Be" is on the radio right now. Well, actually, I guess that's not ironic at all, since it is the most played song of the week.

so when is the final update?. The final update is technically not for a few more hours, but 99.9% of the time there are no changes between the second to last update (the update you see now) and the final one. So basically, the final update is the one that's up now.

Interesting to see the top 5 New & Active being 51-55. When was the last time that happened?

Nelly, you let me down dude! >:( Pretty cool that it went to a tie-breaker though. All the crazy big bullets are fun too. Six songs with 900+ bullets.

Nelly spent 8 weeks at #1 on Chr Pop and spent 11 weeks at #1 on BB's mainstream chart. Gavin probably wont be #1 on BB's chart, Mario should take it.

I didn't even like "I Don't Want To Be" until MONTHS after I first heard it, but I like it now and I'm so happy to see it at #1. I'm even happier for what it represents (real musicians) at #1 than for the song itself, but anyway:

A bunch of you should keep in mind that the bullets are inflated now because the last week column includes the New Year's period. A bullet of about +1000 right now is probably roughly equivalent to a normal bullet of about +500 or so. (Of course, Jennifer Lopez would be an exception since she had 0 spins last week.) The final update is technically not for a few more hours, but 99.9% of the time there are no changes between the second to last update (the update you see now) and the final one. So basically, the final update is the one that's up now. There are never any changes between the ~6:00 PM update and the ~11:00 PM "final" update (at least in the year or two that I've followed Mediabase), other than removal of the recurrents. --DanG

Is this the first chart of the year? No. The 1/7/05 chart was the first one of 2005. And HURRAY for Gavin DeGraw! Man, with a bullet of even +200 (if we exclude "inflation" mentioned previously), Gavin could be in the top 3 for a few weeks after he surrenders the #1 spot! BTW, for those of you curious, Gavin captured the #1 spot on h1m chart on the 11 AM update! Imagine if there was that huge of a difference at the 6 PM update...

Lmao, I was like the only one who predicted Gavin's #1 in the last week or two.

How many weeks did Over & Over spend at #1? 9? or 10? 10 But, officially, it was 8. Since R&R doesn't count the holiday weeks.

10 But, officially, it was 8. Since R&R doesn't count the holiday weeks. Ohh ok thanks I was listening to AT40 last night and Ryan Seacrest said it was its 9th week at #1, so...that's why I asked I'm glad Gavin got #1 too, even if it's only for 1 week (like Breakaway)
