I got tickets to see Martina McBride again, in June. Hopefully she has new music to perform by then! I doubt she'll perform anything new, but looking forward to seeing her again on Friday!

It's a good thing, you can't wait on Nashville to come within an hour of your residence. If you find something that is financially available, distance shouldn't be an issue. Well done!

travelrocks24 you're gonna love this, lol. So I bought tickets to see Brantley Gilbert in September because Michael Ray AND Lindsay Ell are opening. Lindsay freaking Ell. I ADORE her. I have wanted to see her for years and never have. I love me some Brantley too and I've never seen him before either, so I'm really stoked. And of course, any day I can see Michael Ray again is a good day! Here's the thing tho.... its 12 and a half hours from where I live lmao! I couldn't pass it up though. This is like a DREAM concert for me so I'm excited as hell. Now I just need to decide if I wanna drive or fly, LOL.

That's weak sauce! ;) You should see if Lindsay is doing meet and greets. Usually, she puts something on her website for some type of contest.

At least you are willing to travel. I am convinced too many people won't, and some gigs are announced so far in advance that one could plan the transportation options. www.lindsayell.com/meet-lindsay/I presume the gig you are going to will pop up there eventually.

Martina was fantastic last night. She didn’t perform anything new unfortunately, but her set list was changed up a bit from the last time that I saw her. She was so funny and personable, too. She never disappoints.

Time to catch up a little for me. Saw Charlie Daniels and Alabama on Wednesday. Been 25 years since I last saw CDB. For being 82 he moves like he's in his 40's. Stellar show as expected. Alabama also is still great, although without Jeff Cook now they leave some of my favorites out.
Tonight it was Chris Young with Morgan Evans opening. Very disappointed and embarrassed for him too. I get he doesn't have much for hits in the US and he did both of them to close his set but man what a trainwreck before it. Started with "Young Again" but inserted "Shut Up And Dance With Me and "Honey I'm Good" that destroyed the song. He did a song he wrote about Kelsea, which wasn't half bad. He did "Hey Jude" and "Free Fallin" which were awful. I had low expectations because I don't care for his hits much but this was a top 5 worse performance I have ever seen in person. He has no band, although he said he used to have one, so it was just him, and said everything was live, but he had other voclas while he was suinging so no way that wasn't taped. If I wasn't waiting for another act I would have walked out.
Now Chris Young, well as I was last time, I think he is one of the best performers I've seen live. All the hits except for "Neon" which he didn't do last time either. Did do "Drowning" plus another new one called "Hold My Beer Watch This". That song has smash hit all over it. Covered "Papa Loved Mama".

So Morgan did 2 original songs, and everything else was covers? he did his 2 hits, "Young Again", the song he wrote for Kelsea, and I think "American". In a 45 minute show it should not be more covers than originals, especially since he has 2 albums of material.

I saw him open for Kelsea (before they were engaged/married) a few years ago, without a band, and it bored the hell out of me. Your point is 100% dead on. 20+ songs that have been out for release, 45 minute set, at least half should be your own music.

Saw Montgomery Gentry last for the first time since Troy died. I like how they split Troy's vocals among the rest of the band instead of one person doing them all. Great show. And the local opening bands that did all cover songs were really good. And they did all country except for "Me And Bobby McGee" which was written by Kristofferson so it counts as country lol.

Josh Turner on Thursday night and Kip Moore on Saturday... they're both playing my local fair, which is minutes from my house and it's cheap so I might as well lol.
Josh will be good live. Kip I'm only going to because my friend is turning 21 and I promised to take him out drinking, but he wants to go to the Kip Moore concert instead so here we are lol. I saw Kip years ago at this fair when he opened up for EYB... he was okay.

Seeing Willie Nelson next Friday for the first time, and Alison Krauss is also there so that's 2 first timers for me.
More tickets were put on sale for Luke Combs in September here last week and I snagged a ticket since I couldn't when they went on sale. Side of the stage but first row up off the floor.

We-fest starts a week from tonight. Pretty solid lineup as usual. Thurs 8/1 i will see Keith Urban for the 3rd time, Billy Currington for the 3rd time, and i have to say i'm excited to (finally) see Leann Rimes for the first time ever! Friday 8/2 we not only get one of my faves Jake Owen but also the legends themselves Brooks and Dunn, who i give some of the credit for getting me into country music back in the 90s. Saturday we are getting Chris Stapleton. I'll finally be able to see for myself why people make such a big deal about him. Or, possibly, after seeing him i still won't see it. We shall see. 🤷♂️ A few up and comers i am looking forward to checking out too - Adam Doleac, Dylan Scott, & Jimmie Allen to name a few. Should be a fun weekend!

Going to see Clint Black and Trace Adkins with Terri Clark tonight! I haven’t seen Clint live since I was a kid and I’ve never seen Trace before. Terri is an artist I saw live a couple times back in the 90’s when she was opening for George and Reba/Brooks & Dunn so it’ll be great to hear her songs again. It’s going to be a rather nostalgic night lol.

I got tickets to see Michelle Wright for the first time in August. It's been so long since I've heard anything from her. I saw (and met!!) Michelle Wright tonight. She still sounds wonderful, and was extremely personable. She did a few new songs as well, including something I loved that she just wrote called “Small Town”. The venue was nowhere near at capacity, but she seemed genuinely so appreciative for everyone who did show up for the concert. And meeting her after the show, she is a lovely human being. Warm, funny and kind. I highly recommend seeing her if you ever get the chance.

Well, last night was absolutely a dream come true! Little Big Town and Montgomery Gentry. Wowza! Fantastic show, all the way around, as I knew it would be. Eddie Montgomery and the guys were ROCKING that stage and it felt SO GOOD to be at a MG show again singing all the songs with them!!!
Little Big Town remain vocal masters, they sounded as phenomenal as ever last night and it was SO good to be back at one of their shows! I haven't seen them live for over a year! I was debating traveling to their concert tonight, which is a little under 4 hrs from me but I decided not to lol. But yeah, last night was perfect! Still on a major high.

I quit following awards shows years ago but after seeing Thomas Rhett tonight he should be nominated for every EOTY award there is. What a fantastic show. Dustin Lynch was great as always. Russell Dickerson could potentially be good for a long time, although he looked like a long lost member of New Kids On The Block.
But I'm here to talk about Rhett Akins. It had been 22 years since I last saw him live. He did his 2 biggest hits, "That Ain't My Truck" and Don't Get Me Started". And he did "Kiss My Country Ass", "Dirt On My Boots", and "Boys Round Here". He also joked about telling Thomas he would outsell him in t-shirts tonight. Well Dustin, Russell, and Rhett came out during Thomas' "Beer Can't Fix" and Rhett walked by pointing at my shirt and he came back and gave me a first bump. And right after that my friend got a selfie with Thomas who used her phone.
It is possible that I was the only one to buy a Rhett shirt, but it was worth it. What a night.

Michael Ray was AMAZING last night, per usual. I did VIP again lol, I mean it was only $50 so duh. He did 3 songs acoustically and then did a Q&A. He sounded absolutely heavenly, like he did the last time I saw his acoustic set. "Her World Or Mine" was the first one he did acoustically, and my god did he kill it! He is seriously one of, if not the, best male vocalist in the country game right now. Incredible. And HWOM remains one of the best country songs ever written and recorded.
Then came the M&G portion... I wanted a hug lol, so he was gonna go for a handshake and I was like, "so are you a hugger?" while kinda standing there with my arms open like are we gonna do this or not lol and literally right after I got the words out he was, like "come here, come here!" and stretched his arms out wide lol. So I got my Michael hug lmao. And then he says 'It's nice to see you again man" and in my head I'm like, so I clearly go to too many of these things 🙄 lol. I can't believe he recognized me. Yeah, this was my 5th show and 3rd M&G but still! Anyway, it was amazing. Then I told him how glad I was that HWOM is now a single and that it was one of the greatest country songs I've ever heard, and that made him happy lol. Then he said again 'it was really good to see you' and I'm like STAHP lol. But yeah, it was so great. And of course he put on a phenomenal show, always does. I was front row center.... and at a very nice level of drunk, lol. It was euphoria at its finest. Another fantastic Michael Ray show in the books!
Also, on a semi-related and somewhat sad note, I have decided to sell my ticket to the Brantley Gilbert, Lindsay Ell, and Michael Ray show in Indiana later this month. The price for flights + hotel is more than I'm willing to spend at this time. I love Brantley and haven't seen him yet, but he's also announced another tour and one of the shows is an hr and a half from me so I'll catch him then. And I don't need to see Michael AGAIN a mere two weeks after last night's show when he's only opening lmao. And I'll catch Lindsay some other time too. It's just not worth all the money I would have to spend to make it happen.

Got tickets for Chris Stapleton in West Palm Beach coming up soon. Show was sold out so I had to snag a pair of tickets off Stubhub. Really excited to finally see him live!
