90s on 9 was playing the show from 12-3 today. Maybe both stations swtiched the time up this weekend?

Well, it doesn't look like 80s on 8 played an episode at all last weekend, nor does it look like they will this weekend. It'd be so stupid if they canceled it because since the AT40 reruns only go up to August 1988, that's 17 months of the decade that get left out in the cold. I still wish they hadn't dumped the Big 80's Big 40. Although, if you go by Sirius' website, it looks like they never removed it at all!

This week they did 1996. I guess this was when they weren't using R&R because the chart doesn't match up to anything in the archive website.

He switched charts the weekend of June 24, 1995. The chart he used seemed to be what the mixed chart (which was discontinued by R&R as of early 1995) would look like, since a lot of rhythmic songs that never made the CHR/Pop chart, made his countdown. If my memory serves me correctly, the week of July 19, 1997, he switched back to R&R, but even then, he'd fudge around with the charts, changing the positions of certain songs. He had also done that in the fall of 1994, around the top of the chart (which explains how songs like "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "Wild Night" made it to #1).
That sucks that his 80s shows were canceled, but I guess we should have seen it coming, since there wasn't a very wide choice of years (since 1983 and 1984 are said to be non-existant). But even so, who cares? So we'd hear the same year a few weeks apart. So what?

They did 1999 this week, which they also did two weeks ago. I guess that (somewhat) lessens the impact of missing it this week. I'm also adopting most of the formatting from the AT40 thread in the AC forum.

This week it was 1998, another year they recently did. Not that I'm complaining because it's great to hear a lot of these songs again. But I wish they'd do a bit more of a predictable rotation, so that every year is evenly represented.

This week it's 1999... again. And not only did they skip #28 this week, they didn't even acknowledge the number 28 exists! Either that or the segment containing the song was somehow omitted.
3/6/1999 SS: Madonna - Nothing Really Matters 40 98 Degrees - Because of You (13) 39 R. Kelly & Celine Dion - I'm Your Angel (13) 38 Garbage - Special (15) 37 Sheryl Crow - My Favorite Mistake (6) 36 Hole - Malibu (35) 35 Shaggy with Janet Jackson - Luv Me Luv Me (28) 34 Savage Garden - The Animal Song (11) 33 Everlast - What It's Like (5) 32 B*Witched - C'est La Vie (24) 31 Collective Soul - Run (26) 30 Deborah Cox - Nobody's Supposed to Be Here (30) 29 Sixpence None the Richer - Kiss Me (1) 28 Monifah - Touch It (16) [omitted] 27 Mariah Carey - I Still Believe (19) 26 Joey McIntyre - Stay the Same (16) 25 Everclear - Father of Mine (23) 24 Better Than Ezra - At the Stars (17) 23 Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away (6) 22 New Radicals - You Get What You Give (12) 21 Eve 6 - Inside Out (9) 20 The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) (19) 19 Blackstreet featuring Mya and Mase - Take Me There (16) 18 Jewel - Hands (3) 17 Alanis Morrisette - Unsent (16) 16 Barenaked Ladies - It's All Been Done (14) 15 Third Eye Blind - Jumper (1) 14 Monica - Angel of Mine (5) 13 Shawn Mullins - Lullaby (1) 12 Divine - Lately (11) 11 Matchbox 20 - Back 2 Good (8) 10 Backstreet Boys - All I Have to Give (6) 09 Sugar Ray - Every Morning (1) 08 Eagle-Eye Cherry - Save Tonight (1) 07 Will Smith - Miami (7*) 06 Nsync - God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You (5) 05 Brandy - Have You Ever (2) 04 Cher - Believe (2) 03 Sarah McLachlan - Angel (3) 02 Goo Goo Dolls - Slide (1) 01 Britney Spears - Baby One More Time (1)

Was it an xm edit/mis-fire? Cuz Rick VERY often skips songs in his shows an sometimes doesnt acknowledge the 'skip'.

Was it an xm edit/mis-fire? Cuz Rick VERY often skips songs in his shows an sometimes doesnt acknowledge the 'skip'. Well, I don't remember if the intro to #27 was one that would come out of a commercial or out of the previous song. But I had to rewind the broadcast to make sure Rick didn't say "At #28 is so-and-so, and at #27...", which he didn't. It sounded like SXM just bungled it and left out the entire #28 segment, but I just assume Rick's show isn't that incompetent that it would completely forget about one of the songs on the chart.

This week they did 1997. I missed the episode, so I don't know the exact positions in the early part of the countdown, other than that two songs were skipped, and since this was when they still used the mixed chart, I have no way of verifying any of the positions below around #25. For the sake of simplicity, I'll just leave #40 and #39 blank and if someone else happened to hear this and can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
3/15/1997 SS: Real McCoy - One More Time 40 Aerosmith - Falling in Love (Is Hard on the Knees) 39 Hootie & the Blowfish - I Go Blind [skipped] 38 Selena - Last Dance/The Hustle Extra: Babyface - It's No Crime 37 36 Luscious Jackson - Naked Eye 35 Jon Secada - Too Late Too Soon 34 Better Than Ezra - Desperately Wanting 33 311 - All Mixed Up 32 Ginuwine - Pony 31 New Edition - I'm Still in Love with You 30 Leah Androene - It's Alright, It's OK 29 Aaliyah - One in a Million 28 Amber - This Is Your Night 27 The Cranberries - When You're Gone 26 Crystal Waters - Say... If You Feel Alright 25 Whitney Houston - Step by Step 24 Paula Cole - Where Have All the Cowboys Gone 23 Monica - For You I Will 22 Merril Bainbridge - Mouth 21 Blackout All-Stars - I Like It 20 Prince - The Holy River 19 No Mercy - Where Do You Go 18 The Wallflowers - One Headlight 17 Blackstreet - No Diggity 16 Savage Garden - I Want You 15 Duncan Sheik - Barely Breathing 14 Babyface - Every Time I Close My Eyes 13 R. Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly 12 Celine Dion - All By Myself 11 Sheryl Crow - Every Day Is a Winding Road 10 Counting Crows - A Long December 09 Keith Sweat - Nobody 08 Gina G - Ooh Aah... Just a Little Bit 07 Madonna - Don't Cry for Me Argentina 06 En Vogue - Don't Let Go 05 Jewel - You Were Meant for Me 04 Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart 03 Spice Girls - Wannabe 02 No Doubt - Don't Speak 01 The Cardigans - Lovefool

39 was Hootie And The Blowfish "I Go Blind"- Rick mentioned it was falling off the countdown.
I think I heard 40 but I can't remember what it was. Maybe it'll come back to me.

Actually, wait. 40 was Aerosmith, 39 was Hootie, and 38 was Selena.
I went into Target in the middle of Selena's "Hustle" (which I had never heard before in my life) so I have no idea what the other skipped ones were.

Today's is from November 1991. ??? Don't remember the date exactly. Weird to hear them talk about Christmas in March.
The sure shot was "There Will Never Be Another Tonight" by Bryan Adams.
Top 3 were:
3. Color Me Badd - All 4 Love 2. Boyz II Men - It's So Hard To Say Goodbye 1. Michael Jackson - Black Or White

That's exactly it. I thought I heard them say November but that's definitely the right chart.
I'm disappointed that 1 of the 2 songs I missed was the Natural Selection song- I never get to hear that song anymore. Got out of my car during Bonnie Raitt and by the time I was at my desk it was Jodeci.

LMAO. I don't know whether to be glad Sirius/XM is finally mixing it up as far the years go, or perplexed how some moron could be off by nine months in picking a show.
Even though I don't think 1991 was that great a year for pop, I wish I heard this week's show, if only to hear songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Mysterious Ways" on a countdown. I can't understand why 90's on 9 only plays these episodes once a week. It's not like they have any other programming taking up space that doesn't allow them to schedule a couple repeat airings. I mean, as long as I wouldn't have to wait a week to hear, like another channel on the dial fixes it.

This week it was 1999. How ironic that I go away for two weeks and they play years they haven't played in a while, then I come back and it's the same year I heard the last time I listened!

This week they did... the same episode as last week. Yep, I don't know if the people at 90s on 9 screwed up or just got lazy this week, but they're once again playing the April 3, 1999 episode. And since I don't feel like listening to the same jokes two weeks in a row, I'm jumping over to the 80s channel.

Unfortunately, I missed this week's show, and Dog Star Radio was apparently not functioning at the time the show aired. :(
