This week’s Back in the Day Replay, from April 22nd, 1995: 25 (19) Raphael Saadiq (of Tony! Toni! Toné) - Ask of You Man, Sukiyaki got covered/interpolated a lot more in the mid 90's than I probably realized. I think that year, there was also a group called 4PM that covered the "translated" version by A Taste of Honey.

Damn, I didn’t even realize Raphael interpolated “Sukiyaki” for the hook until you pointed it out. lol And yeah, that 4 P.M. cover was from around that time (it came out in ‘94 & peaked in February of ‘95).

I think the 1988 show is a repeat on 80s on 8. This week's chart was previously played in 2017.

Here is something I recently realized regarding the 1990s countdown. Below are a list of which years were featured throughout the month of April since 2018. I'm listing the years in chronological order -- they were not played in this order:
2018: 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 2019: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 2020: 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 2021: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 2022 (so far): 1994, 1995, 1996, (Special)
April 1999 has not been featured since 2016 April 1991 has not been featured since 2014
There's no way this is random. No way do you pick years out of a hat each week and end up with a pattern like this.

For the first time in ages, we got a "new" chart from 90s on 9. It does not look like our good fortune will last, as we're right on track to resume 2020 reruns next week.

Just like how it’s not a coincidence that they’ve used the same running order for shows from two years back. Whoever programs the BITDR is just that lazy.

If the 90s pattern holds (and why wouldn't it?), we are in for a FIVE-time repeat this coming weekend.
But then we *could* see another short break in the pattern, as in 2020 the following week was a Memorial Day special whereas this year Memorial Day is a week later.

Channel 105 is now "Prom Radio" through May 26th, although it's pretty much 90s Rhythmic (90s definition of Rhythmic, not today's definition).
