Why do you guys care about repeats on the 1990s countdowns? Julie Brown adds nothing to the countdown. I totally agree that she is useless as a countdown host. Despite referring to herself as a "chart nerd," she virtually never gives any chart trivia and chooses instead to discuss random pop culture from the year in question. As an actual chart nerd, I like variety. We have a full decade's worth of charts to pick from, 520 in total, so it's annoying to hear the same ones over and over. Like everyone else, I listen exclusively for the music but I want to hear something different each time. It also makes little sense from a production standpoint. How is it cost effective to keep recording new shows featuring the same songs in the same order 3 or 4 times over? But it's gotten worse in the past year because now almost every week is repeating the chart from two years ago. They could just as easily stop producing the show and go into a two-year repeat loop and it would save them a ton of money. I did notice something in common with this week's year selection and the previous break from the 2020 pattern (1993 over Memorial Day weekend). In both cases, the chosen year was one that had a long gap in 2020. Back then, they went from May to October without playing 1990.

90s this week NOT airing a Fourth of July special for the first time in 3 years; instead they're doing 1999 (a year they'd played just six weeks ago) P2K this week is 2003
