*technically not OHWs (one other minor top 40 hit as a lead artist) **Peaked in 1999 & had already dipped below the top 30 by 2000
They missed Huey’s “Pop, Lock & Drop It” (#6 peak) and I'm assuming a couple other top 10 OHWs yet they put in "Mambo No. 5" which I don't consider a '00s hit at all & “Teenage Dirtbag” which, I know it's viral on TikTok rn, but it didn’t even make the Hot 100. Strange.

Next week is all about 1985! So far 1985 has been the only year all new charts have been used that weren’t from the previous years (at least as far back as 2012 to my knowledge). We may end up getting December 7th and 14th, which would be even more remarkable.

And I must add that The Real Thing was Bo Bice's top biggest hit. Then he shouldn't be a one hit wonder.

And I must add that The Real Thing was Bo Bice's top biggest hit. Then he shouldn't be a one hit wonder. It may have been a decent-sized radio hit, but it only topped out at #56 on the Hot 100. I'm also just realizing they missed Taylor "Do I Make You Proud" Hicks too lol.

1990 next plz, it’s been 3 months! Guess what the next year in the 2020 rotation is. And since the chart played back then was from 10/6, *maybe* we will get a different chart this coming weekend...

I think Mark Goodman just announced the VJ Big 40 will be doing 1981 for this weekend. Hopefully that is not the case and is 1985 as first promised.

If they go with 1981 the weekend of 10/7, we will get a repeat from last year (10/10/81). Ideally, they should go with 1983 and that would yield a new chart.

That 1988 chart was not a good time in my life. There are very few songs that I love.
Fall of 1987 was better.

I know I was too 1985 is overdue. Seems like 1981 has considerably gotten a lot of attention this year and the gaps in between play rotation have been smaller. Oh and we get Endless Love again at number one. If there’s any good out of this, we get a new chart of 10/3/1981

*the original recording was what charted that week, yet they played the re-recording instead (like they did two years ago)
Like I keep saying, 3 months is WAY too long to wait for another 1990/1991 countdown with how quick the hits came and went at the time. One of the many reasons why I'd love to see the BITDR go from a top 30 to top 40 show (tho that probably won't happen).

weekend of 9/3/22: 80s: 9/4/82 (previously featured in 2017; same chart as AT40: The 80s) 90s: 9/4/99 weekend of 9/10/22: 80s: 9/13/86 (previously featured in 2021) 90s: 9/10/94 (previously featured in 2021) weekend of 9/17/22: 80s: 9/20/80 (previously featured in 2012, 2014 and 2020) 90s: 9/21/91 (previously featured in 2020) weekend of 9/24/22: 80s: 9/24/88 (previously featured in 2014 and 2015) 90s: 9/28/96 (previously featured in 2017 and 2020) Another dismal selection of charts. The week of 9/10 featured two charts that aired last year. It isn't rocket science.

Like I keep saying, 3 months is WAY too long to wait for another 1990/1991 countdown with how quick the hits came and went at the time. One of the many reasons why I'd love to see the BITDR go from a top 30 to top 40 show (tho that probably won't happen).
The 00s should go to 40 too.
