60s this week is a 50 Biggest Thanksgiving Hits special 00s this week is a "shopping spree picks" special... whatever that means 90s this week is 1990 (presumably a normal countdown which I'm thankful for, or I would be if we weren't getting a repeat from last year)

Next week's free Copycat Casey...1986 Likely to be followed by a repeat of 1983 from last year that means we will be getting December 6th, 2022...I mean 1986. The VJ's might as well find last years tape of 1986 and take the weekend off. I guess December 1983 is there with December 1988 in months where all charts have been played.

I feel like the programming for the 80s on 8 has really just gone downhill. All these past on demand shows are stuck on here, in addition to the vjs announcing chart dates preceding the actual chart date of the show and many repeated charts being used- let alone the 12/6/86 chart coming up next week. My Christmas wish will be clean slate for 2024, but I’m not expecting any fixes anytime soon.

They need to squeeze in 82 at some point which would help mix it up if they do that after 86

I love that the past on demand shows are not being deleted. I've listened to the two 1984 shows quite a few times.

Yeah I'm figuring on 3 more countdowns this year after 86. Likely 83 85 and either 82 or 88

I wonder what they came up with for Pop 2k's shopping list special?

I wonder what they came up with for Pop 2k's shopping list special? From the portion of the show I heard, looks like the same dartboard they used to figure out the countdown on The Pulse.

12/6/86 wasn't done last year but has been done 4 other times most recently in 2021. I'm guessing they have no knowledge of this nor do they care about trying to air new charts or at least not recent repeats. I'm inclined to agree with you. Most of the time they pick whatever year comes up in the rotation and run with it. I feel like nobody who's actually paying attention would willingly keep putting time and money towards recording new shows with the exact same content. In the past, I've likened this to sending the cast of a TV sitcom back into the studio to re-record each episode instead of just playing a rerun. Also, this was the third 1990s countdown in a row to repeat last year. Anybody taking bets on how long this can continue?

They're not due to play 1997 yet but that of course means nothing.

I believe they did 12/6/97 last year so we'll see. They're not due to play 1997 yet but that of course means nothing. If they continue with the repeat pattern, that would mean no more 1993 this year and that year last aired in mid-September. Given the 12/6/97 date, they could throw in a random show next week and pick up the 2022 repeats in two weeks. Or they could, you know, *not* do any of that and give us something new...

I don't know when the two year repeats started but it seems like there is only year A or B. This show has been around over 11 years and there has got to be hundreds of unplayed dates.
