Great album. They never disappoint. I hope this becomes huge as well. Aw, I love I'd Come For You! Haha, that's funny because after I heard the song, I had to go "aw" too.

Oh, is it just me or can "This Afternoon" easily cross over to Country? It screams Country to me.

Hmm, I like it, it's no AtRR imo, but it's on par with their other albums. This album is much much heavier overall than AtRR. It's more similar to The Long Run and Silver Side Up, a few poppy songs, and the rest is rock. They can really regain their rock audience if they release a lot of singles to rock, there's all kinds of rock hits on here (SIYM, Just to Get High, Burn It to the Ground, S.E.X., and Shakin Hands all sound like rock smashes). This definitely won't be as chr/ac successful as AtRR though, nothing really screams Far Away or Rockstar type crossover smash to me yet. Never Gonna Be Alone, I'd Come For You, and ITWYLD sound like the only 3 besides GBS that have a shot at pop. I thought GBS would be huge at pop, but it looks like I'm going to be wrong.

I really, really like Burn It To The Ground. If they release singles wisely, I think this album would be a huge smash. They have some ballads they can release to Top 40 and of course the hard rock songs to Rock and they should try This Afternoon to Country. I'd come For You is probably my favorite among the ballads. I'm a bit disappointed with S.E.X, I thought it's gonna be harder.

^I don't know though. I'm worried about CHR for them. If GBS is gonna miss the top ten altogether, and it's easily one of the most pop radio friendly on the album and the first single, how is anything else gonna be able to do really well on pop? I'm just hoping that GBS takes off again, otherwise they could be in trouble with the pop audience this era.

I think it's more of a problem with how this era is being handled rather than the quaity of the song. I think the demand is still high for them (as proven by Rockstar - a very, very late single that still became a smash). I was thinking that GBS being a bit different from their "usual" sound would help them a lot but maybe that could also be the problem? Or what I feared before, this album is too soon.

Yes, I'm afraid it may be too soon as well. AtRR may have been released 3 years ago, but Rockstar went recurrent less than a year ago. Saving this album one more year may have helped. Anyways I think my fav song is currently This Afternoon. It's a really fun song and great change of pace for them, and besides the country appeal it may even have a chance at being a surprise pop hit, imo.

This Afternoon reminds me of All Summer Long's vibe. I agree, but much more fresh and original. That's why I think it has CHR potential though, cause of ASL.

Just To Get High is one of my favorites. I thought the lyrics were gonna be really bad, but they're actually some of the best on the album, and the chorus is insanely catchy.

Just To Get High is quite sad. :'( I wonder if it's true. I think the guitar work on this album is more superior compared to ATRR. Or maybe it's just because it sounds fresher to me.

This is their best work to date for me, stellar album!! The return of Hard Rock to the mainstream. One of the best Rock records this decade, I enjoy it from beginning to end!

It's very beautiful.

It's very beautiful. Yeah I think they should go with that one over NGBA as the power ballad single. It's much better, NGBA is a bit draggy and generic, imo.
