As Casey might have said: "This week we have to say goodbye to 4 droppers heading into the AT40 book of records."
From 40: Here We Go by Trina f. Kelly Rowland - 8 weeks on From 39: We Be Burnin'(Legalize It) by Sean Paul-17 weeks From 38: I'm Sprung by T-Pain - 15 weeks on From 35: Laffy Taffy by D4L - 12 weeks on

I never heard Casey say that from 1995 until the end.
For me, he would have said:
"Well, this week we have four debuts so we have to say goodbye to four droppers. Falling off the survey are: From 40: Here We Go by Trina f. Kelly Rowland - 8 weeks on From 39: We Be Burnin'(Legalize It) by Sean Paul-17 weeks From 38: I'm Sprung by T-Pain - 15 weeks on From 35: Laffy Taffy by D4L - 12 weeks on And coming in at #36 is the highest debut, from Sean Paul called 'Temperature'"
"I'm Casey Kasem"

"I'm Casey Kasem" Unless I'm hallucinating, I think I heard him mention the AT40 Book of Records in connection with the droppers, a few times in recent years. Anybody else remember this?

When I saw that there were four debuts (at the end of jh's post), I was like, "Could it be??" Unfortunately, it was not, as "Scars" is still on the damned chart! Oh well, at least it drops a few. I just hope that it doesn't go back up or hang on near the brink of the chart for about a month like it recently did on Dees.
Only one "Breakout" track this week. "For You I Will" is the only song on the matching R&R chart that has not yet been heard on AT40.

"I'm Casey Kasem" Casey never mentioned the number of weeks on or where the droppers fell off from. He would just announce the droppers after the highest debut. "Rolling in at #36 is this week's highest debut. "Temperature" by Sean Paul. And that means we have to say goodbye to four droppers. Falling off the survey this week are Here We Go by Trina and Kelly Rowland, We Be Burnin' by Sean Paul, I'm Sprung by T-Pain, and Laffy Taffy by D4L."

Casey never mentioned the number of weeks on or where the droppers fell off from. He would just announce the droppers after the highest debut. Acutally, I do recall him mentioning the number of weeks on occassion, at least on the AC version. On AT20, the week that "You'll Be In My Heart" finally fell off, he mentioned that it was on for an amazing 78 weeks (or whatever it happened to be at the time). And for awhile on AT40 after Ryan took over, he would mention one dropper if the artist happened to be on the countdown with another song. For example, he might say, "'We Be Burnin'' falls off the countdown this week. But debuting at #36, here he is with 'Temperature'..." or something like that.

Only because I was off this weekend, I decided to tune in. I heard his first AT40 show and I vowed never to listen again. Ryan isn't half bad now although NOBODY beats the legendary Casey Kasem. The only thing I don't like about AT40 now are those jingles. "Scars" is still on here. Good to see "Temperature" debut here. :)

SleazeCrest sure was big pimpin' this weekend. He had his Oscar gig with the E! Channel to mention several times along with American Idol closing bit. I wonder if he will ever use those shows to pimp AT40, unlikely!!!
Of course, his famous ass kissin' & softball interview-style with Mary J. was in top form. You could tell that Mary & him were not on the same plane. "Radio shows are short. I'll have to meet up with you off-air and talk more." What about your listeners.....it's not just about you.
Do the long interview and put just the best stuff on the show and leave out all the small talk about how great you think everyone is.
SleazeCrest did have time to tell us what movies were great this weekend. Is it just me? If I want an opinion, I'll listen to talk radio not AT40.
