"FAFA" is really starting to kick in. With a bullet of +173, it's the greatest gainer in the Top 10 and the second greatest gainer overall. She passed MB20 and Luther (and Celine) and looks like she has a good chance of going to #1. Only problem is Uncle Krapper also got back a small bullet and is over 400 spins ahead of the competition.

Uncle Krackerjack must go away... he ruined Celine's chance of getting a 10+ week #1, so I don't want him to ruin Shania's chance as well >:(

It's pretty interesting that Shania got a hit out of this song on AC. I never heard it anywhere on the radio since it's been released while the Halifax pop station played both 'IGGG' and 'Up!'. I'm glad this song is giving her CD song success singles-wise.

Does anyone know Shania's history on the AC chart? How did "You're Still The One" and "From This Moment On" do? Both did well on CHR and country.
It's interesting to note how ever since she invaded the pop charts in '98, she's slowly faded in the country market. In addition, as she's faded from the US charts (pop or country), she's produced hit after hit in Europe and the UK. "Ka-ching" totally flopped in the States in all formats (with good reason too; the song simply sucks), but went top 5 in the UK!

"Ka-Ching" wasn't even released in the US! And it peaked at #8 in the UK to be exact!

I didn't expect "Forever And For Always" to get so far up the chart, and now it's in contention for #1.
Other than "Unwell" (which will likely regain its bullet soon), there doesn't seem to be much competition for #1 at this time. Of course, Uncle Kracker will have to start falling first.
If not "Unwell" or "Forever And For Always", the next #1 will probably be Phil Collin's "Look Through My Eyes".

Speaking of Uncle Kracker, did anyone else notice that his follow up to "Drift Away" LOST 19 spins on Hot AC this week?

"FAFA" is #3 today. This just goes to show how wishy-washy the AC chart has become. Usually chart positions didn't change from month to month... now they're changing on a daily basis. Too bad Uncle Krapper doesn't join in on this wishy-washy lovefest.

Speaking of Uncle Kracker, did anyone else notice that his follow up to "Drift Away" LOST 19 spins on Hot AC this week? I'm not surprised by this. Drift Away is still HUGE on Hot AC and also on AC. There is still a chance for this song to gain back its momentum on Hot AC, so we will see. Anyways, back on topic... I really don't want Drift Away to get the record on AC. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let another song take over and stop this reign!!! Shania is still 300 spins away from the top spot and doesn't look like it will get to the top anytime soon...

SHANIA IS #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uncle Krapper is outta there.
Although, Shania only had a 7 spin gain as of now... let's hope it's still that way on Sunday night. About time something, anything, kicked "Drift Away" out.... but the fact that it's such a good song makes it even better.

Now, don't go counting your chickens before they're hatched. As JerseyBoy said, the A/C chart is very wishy washy and unpredictable. Uncle Kracker could very easily reclaim the top spot by this Sunday's update. But even if it doesn't, hey at least it broke the record!

Uncle Kracker is currently at number one, with a 60+ spin lead. Who knows what will happen?

Sigh. On other charts, if you jump 5-2, you stand a good chance of hitting #1 pretty soon. This topic is made almost a month ago, and Shania's STILL at #2.

Yeah... and the #1 song was there far too long even then. Shania is now over 100 spins behind Krapper... her #1 mid-week advancement was just a tease. Really mean >:(

Can you believe the chart run of FAFA??Β :o It just won't die!! Uhhh, well it is off the chart now... but it is still a strong recurrent and why not? There is no strong followup to steal airplay (or maybe no followup can steal airplay from FAFA?)

That's right. But it's a good thing that "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing" was strong enough to cause "Forever And For Always" to fall below #10 so it could be shipped off to recurrent. Otherwise, the song would be doing exactly what "Drift Away" is doing now (of course, the latter would have fallen off as a result, but I'd rather "Drift Away" clutter up the chart for 70-some weeks than "Forever And For Always"
