I know Ann Wilson so I'm assuming Carnie is from Heart. I don't expect a person from a band to release a Diane Warren cover. It must have been an album track because I've never heard of the title. It's also the second (or more) Diane Warren cover this year.

What a fitting track! I think she does a good job on a Samantha Mumba cover! I think Sam would be proud if she happens to hear it. :)

Carnie Wilson is from Wilson Phillips, Evan. ;) She's also the daughter of Brian Wilson, the so-called genius of the Beach Boys, back in the '60's. And one of the other members of the group, Chynna Philips, is the daughter of John and Michelle Philips of the Mamas and Papas.

I don't know anything about Wilson Phillips. They charted with 7 straight top 40 hits from 1990-92, before you got into music. :)

This sounds really cheap and tinny. Considering what great vocalists wilson phillips were, i expected better. Maybe her voice is wrecked, or maybe they'd have benefitted from a more natural recording.
I can't see it going anywhere, but i hope i'm wrong, cos she's a likeable woman.

I agree, "Don't Need You To Tell Me I'm Pretty" is the perfect song for Carnie Wilson. It goes to show you how choosing a song for an artist can be like choosing a lead for a movie. Lyrically, I don't think there is a better song in the world for her to do...hopefully the final track lives up to it's billing, as that clip sounds a little weak to me.

Diane Warren has written songs for Heart... or Heart has recorded Diane Warren songs!
