This and his other single "I'll Be" are the greatest high school prom slow dance songs because they just give you the urge to makeout with your date. Unfortunately I don't think this made a huge impact on CHR/Pop.

It's OK. Much better than "I'll Be." Seems like it was used a lot as a Long Distance Dedication.

I like "I'll Be."
I like Sara Evans' version more.

It was good, nothing more, nothing less. However, I liked the Sara Evans version more.

It was pretty good. Peaked at #20 on my chart, and was my #74 song of 1999.

"I'll Be" is way better than this song, in my opinion, and yeah, I'd rather make out to "I'll Be" than this one..

This and "I'll Be" are the only songs by him to make my chart and both went all the way to #1. Sara Evans' version sucked.

Brilliant song with beautiful lyrics and excellent singing! Edwin McCain is one of my favorite solo male artists of the 1990s. The song was a top 10 on my chart when I started it in July 1999, but probably would have been #1 earlier than that.

This song is awesome! Among the best love songs I've ever heard. This and "I'll Be" are fantastic! :)

yea, I definitely became obsessed with those two songs for a while. I was even incited to buy his CD (don't know what happened to it, though) Has he ever had another hit after CNAFM?

Ugh! I'm not a fan of Edwin really at all. But check out his 'Solitude' song! Not THAT's a song! Why couldn't he carry on with songs like that instead of mushy bull like 'I'll Be' or this one.

I just find Edwin's music to be really boring, and as such, it didn't inspire me to make out at slow dances, if he was even played. If not, change "didn't" to "wouldn't."
Although I definitely liked "I Could Not Ask for More" better than "I'll Be." (And I don't remember "Solitude" anymore.)

Unfortunately I don't think this made a huge impact on CHR/Pop. #17, but it lasted long enough to go recurrent. I like this better than "I'll Be".

Totally love this song.....the range is awesome. This is also one song that I can actually sing really good. Edwin's version of the song is great, however Sara Evans country cut is amazing. I remember driving down the I90 in New York and hearing her version for the first time. It totally blew me away!

I liked "Solitude." I hated "I'll Be" & "I Could Not Ask For More," pure cheez.

It was an underrated song and I liked it but not as much as "I'll Be."

Great song... almost as good as "I'll Be"... but not quite... Still listen to this one a lot today and hear it on the radio some too...

ICNAFM and "I'll Be" are two of the better ballads of the 90s.

Liked I'll Be much better. I Could Not Ask For More was alright. Liked Sara's version better, but it is still one of my least favorite songs from her (not that I hate it or anything).
