FINALLY, IT'S HAPPENED TO ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE, AND I JUST CAN NOT HIDE IT!
It was the Ol' School Joint of the Day on 106 & Park about a month ago, and I totally remembered this song, so I went and downloaded it.
She was Miss Black Arizona years back, they said.
Don't really remember much of this song when it was out...when, 1995? Too young...but I suppose it's a dance 'classic'

A definite '90s dance classic, though I don't like it anywhere as much as I used to.

It came out in late 1991 I believe. I much prefer the radio version. Good song.

I much prefer the radio version. Good song. Me too... was that the version with the short male rap in the bridge?

Me too... was that the version with the short male rap in the bridge? I think the album version was just overall more dancey. The 7" radio version toned it down.

I like the song & the video, but I did not know there was a mix with rap in it.

I thought it was 1993? Definately before my time (before 1994) but it's on the first CD I ever owned (Dance Mix '94 from MuchMusic) thus I know it and love it! Big hit for me!

Such a good song. Dance floor classic, would love to hear it today but that's not gonna happen unless I go somewhere really cheesy.

Nope, it was released in late 1991 and peaked on the Hot 100 in early 1992. I have a print copy of the Hot 100 chart the week it peaked. It peaked on the CHR/Pop chart the week of January 10, 1992.

I loved this song. This song was part of a huge rise in dance music popularity. It was necessary after a decade of music with few dancable hits.

Huh? The 80's had few danceable hits? ??? Some, but dude, you weren't at the high school dances back then. Hit after hit, that you really couldn't dance to because they had that slow as molasses drum beat but were still considered "up tempo" songs so you couldn't slow dance either. It sucked. The best ones were the songs that imitated the 50's and 60's or for that matter the fact that the 50's and 60's songs became popular again for a while. Now THOSE you could dance to. Just watch how poorly people dance in some of those cheesy 80's movies. That's how people were dancing in high school. shameful.

Just watch how poorly people dance in some of those cheesy 80's movies. I just thought it was because they were all white. ;)

I dunno, when we threw an 80's party people were dancing like that more than at any other party. And a lot of my favorite songs to dance to are from the 80's. Maybe I'll list them if I have time later today.

Maybe I'll list them if I have time later today. I'd like to see a list. I'm not saying there aren't any good 80's dance songs, but it is a lot easier to look back on the decade and pick them out to find them. Trust me, until the late 80's, that decade was really hurting for dance music.

This song charted in late 1991 and into early 1992. It hit number 7 on the R&R chart and it went gold. I had a girlfriend at the time, so the lyrics seemed to fit well. I liked all of CeCe's hits.

I'm a big Cece fan. I liked "Finally" but it was "We Got A Love Thang" & "Keep On Walkin'" that made me buy the album. I wonder what she's up to now....I miss her!

Pure gold! Although I don't like the rapper. The version without the rap is much better.

I have her "20th Century Millenium Collection". All her hits are on this. It also includes the 12" version of "Finally". I can't wait to see her perform this on that TV show "Baby one more time".

I really liked this song! It's a classic. I heard this for the first time when it was used in the movie The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert. It was lipped. The 7" Choice Mix is perfect!
