I love this song! This is probably my favorite from the Human League.

This was a good song. Not my favorite of theirs, but it did deserve a better chart run.

Last Top 40 hit ever for the Human League.

This was such a bizarre hit. It was their first US hit in 9 years. The single did not sell particularly well, hence the low Hot 100 peak. The album didn't even chart. Yet despite all of this, it somehow managed to go Top 10 at CHR/Pop. Very odd.

Yet despite all of this, it somehow managed to go Top 10 at CHR/Pop. Very odd. A dearth of real pop music, plus the fact that stations were starting to rediscover the 80's, probably helped this along. I know of the CHRs I listened to in 1995, a lot had "Retro Lunch" shows that were heavy on the new-wave. If I remember correctly, this song dropped like a rock after it peaked. It had zero staying power. Still love it though- my opinion in my post from 5 years ago still stands.

Good come back for the Human League. R&R chart run: 35-19-13-12-9-8-9-10-14-20-34. Even though this charted after the use of monitored airplay to compile the chart, it had a chart run similar to the station playlist era.

I YouTubed this about two weeks ago! Of course, not ever knowing this thread would be revived.

Didn't know the Human League made a 90s comeback as this song is not as remembered as some of their big 80s hits (such as "Don't You Want Me" and "Human"). Nonetheless, this is a great, if not slept-on, song that maintains that 80s feel the band had been know for. Not sure with station in my market played this song when it came out as Chicago had no mainstream top 40 station at the time and B96 was rhythmic/dance (although I found out that B96 did play this song despite not showing up on their song surveys on Radio & Records).

i don't think it was as good as their 80's songs. it peaked at #8 on Cash Box which is a big difference from Billboard as well.
