It'd be nice to see this song stay strong with downloads as it grows on radio. It could be a nice sized hit. It deserves it.

GO AVRIL! This song is awesome! I can see a Breakaway effect happening to her. I mean this is kind of similar to Breakaway, and its from a soundtrack and her new album is coming up....Sound familiar? haha OT...Most Girls by Pink just came on MTV Hits!

I hope it has some longevity on iTunes so it can have high downloads when the airplay will be higher. But for now, #6 isn't too shabby.

Heard this yesterday, sounds great. Downloading this one this week. I was surprised that AI is at 4million as of yesterday, but I think this will catch on with AC after the holidays.

Still very interested. :) Now those CHR PD's on the other hand need some heads examined! This should be growing a lot faster (think 1000+ spins per week)... 65 45 AVRIL LAVIGNE Keep Holding On 524 262 262 2.104

Anyone think this is moving too slow? You'd think with the great response and the high sales on itunes that this would be gaining faster on the pop chart.

It is starting to gain more speed these few days, hopefully it will blow up within these coming weeks. 'Eragon' is out next week too, if it's a big hit, maybe the stations will add it and increase spins. It's also the greatest gainer and Top 30 on Hot AC.

Woah download smasssh! Great to see that the public still have interest in Avril. She can thank God for Butch Walker, who almost single handedly has saved her career from tanking after her first album.

Um....Butch Walker didn't "save" her career. Avril is perfectly capable of making hits hersef.
And I do agree that this is starting a tad slow, but it will end up being huge either way.

Why would her career have tanked after her first album without Butch Walker??? Just curious... It's an objective view certainly, but I'm listening to the tracks off of 'Under my Skin', and I see all of her newest singles were under his production, an impressive feat considering she had at least 4 different producers on that album. She was heavily criticized on her first album by being entirely under the control of producers The Matrix to get the sound that the album delivered, and many music critics were of the opinion that without them, her second album would flop. "Don't Tell Me," "My Happy Ending," and "Under My Skin" were all under his instruction and guidance (which you definitely hear if you've listened to his work), as he did the majority of the writing on them, and was an advisor on many of the tracks as well. IMO, the majority of the other songs on that album were really, really weak and unfit for radio play (ie. Together, How Does It Feel?) or made her look like a kid-bopper copying her first album (ie. He Wasn't). Butch Walker also played a large number of the instruments on the album, including bass, guitar, percussion, keyboards, programming, and background vocals. With the exception of the three aforementioned songs he produced, as well as Ben Moody's "Nobody's Home," the album as a whole is actually pretty weak, and comes off as just another Chantal Kreviazuk album (who co-wrote most of the material). I'm saying this honestly, take away the three tracks he produced and did most of the work on, and what does "Under My Skin" look like? It looks pretty damned bad. Otherwise it would have been "Nobody's Home," which (shockingly) didn't make the top 40, and "He Wasn't" which reached 23 in the UK and 25 in Australia, and wasn't released in the US. That sounds like a tank to me. Avril must seem to agree on his abilities as well. He's everywhere she is, and she has called him "her mentor" and "a big brother" on several interviews. He has also opened (and played onstage with) almost every live show she's played overseas the past 2 years, and many of the domestic ones as well. Other artists seem to as well, since he's got credits with Collective Soul, Injected, Bowling For Soup (nominated for a Grammy), Stroke 9, SR-71, Default, Sevendust, Midtown, American Hi-Fi, Lindsay Lohan (produced her only hit), Tommy Lee (produced and sang the theme to his TV show), Pink, Pete Yorn, Quietdrive and Rockstar: Supernova, among others, all within this millennium - in addition to his own world touring and producing and 3 solo albums. Finally, from a press release "Butch Walker was named Rolling Stone producer of the year in 2005, following the surprise success of Avril Lavigne's new album "Under My Skin"." As well, from Lavigne's webpage, "Avril says that her new album will contain love songs since 'that's what I'm feeling at the moment' and that she is enjoying being able to write songs with Butch Walker [who is producing her new album]." I'm not saying Avril isn't talented, because I really think she is, and that she's certainly rounding into form and making us Canucks proud; she's certainly got enough ability that Butch Walker is willing to mentor and befriend her. But I stick with my original argument, and I believe that I've certainly backed it up. I mean, it's not like I simply restated my opinion in one simplistic sentence and bolded it for effect, and then spelled the most important, bolded word wrong....

Fine by me! I'm guessing you haven't heard Chantal's latest album.

I definately agree that Butch had helped her succeed big time, but to say that he almost single-handedly saved her career, that's too far-fetched. Both of them had helped each other in their careers. Avril had helped exposing Butch to more people in the music industry. Both of them make a great team.
Chantel's tracks on UMS ain't that bad. 'Slipped Away' & 'Fall To Pieces' are standouts on the album. But we won't be hearing any Chantel-Avril collabo anymore since both of them fell out.

Why is CHR/POP not picking up on this yet? Its doing extremely well on Itunes (surpassing songs that currently have stronger bullets on radio) and is also the top gainer on Hot AC, but pop is pretending like it doesn't exist.

Uh its right behind Daughtry's new one (surprised that one is doing so well, actually no I'm not n/m) and will probably be top 40 probably by the end of the week. What did you want off a soundtrack song a Beyonce debut lol? I don't think I remember Breakaway debuting top 40 in its first week either...
